Summary: Out of Harm's Way
Review: If you care about companion animals, please please read. The content made me more aware of Animal needs during a disaster, and has inspired me to take a UAN/EARS training course that certifies a volunteer to help in the rescue effort of animals when disaster strikes (tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, etc.). This book reads like fiction and I could not put it down. I am buying several to give as gifts, as this book moved me beyond belief. I hope Ms. Crisp writes more books on Animal Rescue in natural disasters, her personal experiences, and how crucial volunteers are. Ms. Crisp focuses on the positive side of Emergency Animal Rescue for the animals that were left behind to fend for themselves. Great reading and extremely uplifting.

Summary: Amazing!
Review: If you love animals you'll love this book. The stories are heartwarming. I laughed & cried all through the book. Terri is an amazing woman & her work continues with Noah's Wish. BR>Read the book and if it speaks to you like it did to me you will want to get involved in helping animals and their companion humans in times of disaster.

Summary: Wonderfully uplifting read!
Review: If you love animals, you'll love this book. It made my laugh and it made me cry. Having worked with the author as a volunteer at the Animal Rescue Center at the Placer County Fairgrounds during the northern California floods of 1997, I could really identify with the emotions the author experienced during her rescue efforts at many of our nations other disasters. Very compelling - I didn't want to put it down. When I finished reading I felt good for having spent the time, and I think you will too

Summary: Excellent!
Review: Out Of Harm's Way by Terri Crisp is a touching story. Terri, after arranging stuffed animals on shelves when she was six, finds herself helping animals with the EARS and UAN programs. A touching story. 5 stars isn't enough!!

Summary: Excellent animal rescues narrative
Review: Terri Crisp does an excellent job of describing her experiences in animal rescues. All-too-often, pet owners leave their animals to fend for themselves in disasters ... a wrong choice that could have deadly consequences. Terri encourages the end of that kind of practice in her excellent, simple and repetitive narrative method. This book is difficult to put down.

Summary: A Dedicated Lady
Review: Terri Crisp is an amazing lady. I didn't think anyone could be that dedicated to saving and caring for animals. The book was very well written and catching. I read it when I was 11 and I fell in love from the first chapter.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Unforgettable!
Review: Terri Crisp will carry one through every emotion imaginable as she tells of her many courageous rescues of animals during both nature and man-made disasters. There are numerous inspiring stories, but the most heartbreaking and disturbing are the ones which tell of owners leaving their pets behind - treating their pets as disposable items.

Ms. Crisp explains the tragic consequences of not being prepared for a disaster throughout the entire book. She also includes invaluable pet disaster kits and other information in order to prepare for a disaster.

This is one book that I could not put down until the last page was read. It's one that will be read and re-read.

Summary: The best book I have ever read!
Review: This book changed my life! I have never had anything inspire me more than this book. After I read it I became a volunteer of Terri Crisp's organization EARS. I would recommend this book to anyone. If you are not an animal lover you will be after you read this!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An incredible book about an incredible lady and pet rescue!
Review: This book is one of those few you read in your life that you think back upon and say, "That book changed my life". Even as I read about the author's triumphant (and sometimes tragic) attempts to organize the Emergency Animal Rescue Service, I realized that I wanted to join her cause. The stories of pet rescue in the aftermath of Hurrican Andrew, the Midwest Floods, and the Exxon Valdez are some of the most inspiring I have ever read. Many of the images and emotions will stay with me forever. After finishing the book (and clearing the lump in my throat), I immediately sent in my request to join the volunteer rescue organization. As a 40 year old male, few (if any) books have had such an effect on me. You'll love this book, and you'll thank heaven that people like the author of it exist! An incredible book

Summary: Extraordinary! Buy it, read it, and get involved!
Review: This book moves the reader in unbelievable ways. I found myself choking up often, sometimes from the joy of a nearly impossible rescue being accomplished, sometimes for the sorrow of the loss of an innocent animal, and sometimes with anger at the people who can evacuate their TV, but not their dog. I had only just heard of EARS (Emergency Animal Rescue Service) toward the end of the Red River Flood in Minnesota and North Dakota, and reading this book has made me promise myself that if there is another disaster within range of my home, I'll be there, and I'll help. Terri is an inspiration
