Rating: Summary: This book will change your life. Review: A friend shared this book with me and I thank her. Terri Crisp is a true hero! She remains positive while cleaning up after countless thoughtless pet owners. When disaster strikes it is the helpless who are left behind in situations that leave them no chance of escape. Terri and company are often the last chance a stranded animal has for life. Terri is amazing. If every pet owner would read this book, the world would be a much safer place for our animal friends. Read this, and pass it on to a friend. It will change your life.
Rating: Summary: review based on personal acquaintance with author Review: As a Dir. of Human Resources, I read a lot of resumes. When I read Terri Crisp's resume nearly 10 years ago, I knew she was right for a job as HR administrator--but what was this "cat trapping" she listed as a hobby? When I interviewed Terri, I discovered that she spent her spare time trapping and humanely relocating cats and kittens that had been abandoned and gone wild. Sometimes they were sick, sometimes they were dangerous, sometimes people just wanted them "gone." As I grew to know Terri and we worked together, I found out that there was nothing sentimental in her attitude towards animals desperately in need. She loved them, but she recognized their potential danger to other animals, to people and to the environment. Now, many years later, she devotes her time and talents to rescuing animals threatened or stranded by natural disasters. She trains volunteers, takes substantials risks herself, and has become a highly successfull professional. I know, however, that the instincts that inspired her first amateur efforts at cat trapping--a sincere and rational dedication to the rights of animals--still exist. This is her story, and an inspiration to anyone who "loves animals" and wants to put that love to practical, important use. It's also full of suspense for action lovers. I highly recommend it.

Rating: Summary: An incredible book...an incredible woman Review: As a wildlife rehabilitator, I can relate to Ms. Crisp's love and devotion to animals. She is my hero and an incredible human being. The book is well written. I have read it twice and I cried just as hard the second time as I did the first. Truly inspirational.
Rating: Summary: Got em!!! Review: Because of a simple trapping tecnique Terri taught me in this book, after 2 years of trying, I FINALLY trapped a feral cat in my neighborhood. If you do rescue work, this book is for you.
Rating: Summary: Out of Harms Way Review: Being a teacher, I edit and review a lot. I found this to be one of the best 'content' stories I've ever read. It was very descriptive and introduced you to the world of saving our furry, fluffy and sometimes feathered friends. This story reminded me of growing up on our farm and brought me back to my many adventures as a child, working with animals. I laughed and cried in every chapter. I simply couldn't wait to go to bed everynight so I could read more. It was like a Daniel Steele, only without the romance. It was so good, it's convinced me to train this summer to be a volunteer in Minnesota. I'm very anxious and I'm so thankful for all she (and the other volunteers) have done for the animals that I love so much. I recommend it to everyone, reading it should be a prerequisite for anyone living in a potentially disasterous area. Bravo!

Rating: Summary: A book for all not just adults, but kids too! Review: I am 13 years old and am in the midst of reading Terri Crisp's Out of Harms Way. It is a wonderful book about a womans contributions to saving the lives of animals during the worlds, at times, most dangerous threat, Mother Nature. I have always been an animal lover and when I am in a book store will look for books about people's expieriences with animals. I saw this book and bought it almost immediately. Once I started reading It, I was unable to put it down. Even during school when the teacher wasn't looking, I would sneak a look at the book! Only once was I caught and told to wait to read it later! It would take awhile to get through a chapter but It was worth it! I would also read it on the bus going to and from school. I keep track of all the books I read and I label them as ok, good, or excellent. This is definitely on the excellent scale. So even if you may only be 13 or even younger, and are very interested in animals or even just enjoy reading about them, then this is for you!! I think my friends are all very sick of hearing about it from me because I am always nagging at them to read it!
