Rating: Summary: Short and Sweet Review: This book is excellent. It gives short but detailed information and accounts of all the well known cryptids as well as many lesser known creatures. Lots of interesting information packed into a concise, organized format.
Rating: Summary: Great, but brief Review: This book is great for the person interested in Crytozoology in that it contains everything, even Chupacabras! It leaves you wanting for more information, however. I also agree with the reviewer who found the who's-who of Cryptozoology unsettling. It was like a mad shout out to Ivan Sanderson! Yo!I did find the section on the Beast of Gevadan (basis for the film "Les Pacte Les Loups") to be quite interesting.
Rating: Summary: A great book. Review: This book is great. Very easy to read and understand. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in cryptozoology or the out of the ordinary. Although it does talk too much on some subjects and not enough on others, but it all evens out. This book is well worth the money.
Rating: Summary: A great overview of Cryptozoology Review: This book is very good, and gives a nice overview of the field of cryptozoology. I have only two complaints about it. The major one is that the author often mentions photographic evidence of some of these creatures, but the pictures are not printed in the book. As much fun as it is to read about strange creatures, it would be much better to actually see these pictures of them! My other complaint is that a large percentage of the listings are for researchers in the field of Cryptozoology. I understand that the book is an encylopedia of the whole field, and not just the animals studied, but I didn't always find the background of the researchers to be that interesting. On a whole, however, this is a really good book. It would be fascinating even to someone with only a mild interest in Cryptozoology.
Rating: Summary: cryptozoology a to z reveiw Review: this book is very, very good. one of the only problems is that there aren't all of the cryptids. bigfoot, yeti, loch ness monster, chupacabra, jersey devil, mokele mbembe......these are a few of the names that come in mind when you think of cryptid. this is a book that includes:pictures, photographs, information and more.this book includes:cryptids, new animal discoveries, cryptozoologist and searchers.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful and fascinating Review: This book is wonderful. It is a must-have for anyone who is interested in cryptozoology. I give this book 5 stars, it is a delightful, wonderful read.
There are some things in this book that I would have left out, such as the Beast of Gevaudan, the megalodon, or piasa. However, there were many creatures I found fascinating, such as Mokele-mbembe, kongamato, the pygmy elephant, and the many types of monkey-men, such as Yeti, Bigfoot, Yeren, and the Skunk Ape and others mentioned in the book.
Rating: Summary: cryptozoology A-Z Review: This is a must have book if your into cryptozoology. it has alot of cryptozoologists. and it does not get boring after you read it once and it has a timeline for when the animals where discovered.
Rating: Summary: A very good introduction to the subject Review: This new book provides a solid overview of cryptozoology and will serve as an excellent introduction to the topic for beginners. Famous and obscure mystery animals are discussed and major personalities in the field are also profiled. The authors have also included a comprehensive bibliography and a list of excellent websites for readers interested in further research.
