Rating: Summary: Sustaining the Earth Review: Environmental preservation is such an important subject that it should be presented in a manner that anyone can understand. This book burries the reader, with it's run-on sentances, with mind boggling fact after mind boggling fact. The grammar was so bad that it ultimately stunted my motivation for reading the text not more than half way through. I reccomend looking elsewhere in order to educate yourself on bio-eccological concerns.
Rating: Summary: Environmental Science 101 Review: Here is a book that will give you all the basics of environmental science. Miller updates his book every 2 years, so the information is not only relevant, it's completely current. (Very difficult with such a fast paced topic.)The book provides all the basic ground work for continuing to study or just be involved with what's going on in the environment. There are chapters on basic science terms, population, energy, biodiversity, pollution, hazardous waste, economics and politics. For example, if you want to know what the US Fish and Wildlife group has done historical, currently and what different groups would like them to do now and why, it's all in this book. Absolutely fascinating reading for anyone who want's to know what all the noise is about our environment.
