Summary: The book is very informative:-)
Review: In Search of Sisterhood is an excellent tool to use for young ladies interested in becoming members of any black greek letter organization. It gives the full history of Delta Sigma Theta and its purpose up to 1988. It will not tell you what will happen or what to do if you would like to become a Delta, but it does give you invaluable historical information to assist you in choosing a sorority.

Summary: A Must Read For Those Considering Sisterhood
Review: In Search of Sisterhood is the definitive authorized historical reference for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. If you are interested in joining this organization this is a book that should be on your book shelf. Okay--this is not an easy read. It is the history of the organization on paper, and I mean it is very detailed. You will learn about the founders, different events and other information related to the growth of the 90 year old organization. The book was originally written in 1988, so don't expect any new information regarding the organization but this book is a wonderful start. The book also has goodies such as the founders name, national presidents through 1988, conventions through 1988, the Delta oath and hymn.

Summary: Delta Sigma Theta from Alpha Kappa Alpha
Review: Something not realized by most people is that Delta Sigma Theta was founded by women who left Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. We don't normally tell people that we are the misfits that AKA didn't want...but it's true.

Summary: In Search of Sisterhood
Review: This book greatly helped me understand, appreciate, and cherish my sorority. I was introduced to this as a freshman in college when nearly every upper classwomen had one hiden under her pillow. I able to gain much information about my sorority and my chapter BETA, that strongly influenced my decision to become a memeber. I am very ecstatic that a soror would take the challenge and dedication to write such a informative book about our beloved sorority.

Summary: Intriguing.
Review: This book has enlightened my views on Delta Sigma Theta sorority. For the first time have I been proud of a group of black women. I get to relive history through this well-written book. It was breath-taking. Now I know more about the aspirations that women of color have lived up to, and the ones I hav to live up to as well. The black sorority movement is not about just fun and games. It could be so much more. Thumbs up.
