Review: I got this book over 8 years ago long before I step onto a college campus. I enjoyed it. It is informative and insightful. If you just want to here about the step shows and just the fun part of being a member of Delta Sigma Theta and you don't want to know about the work this book is not for you. As a member of this illustrous sorority this is history I love to know. I love DST and OO-OOP! to Soror Giddings.

Summary: DELTA WANNA BE
Review: I HAVE READ PORTIONS OF THIS BOOK AND FOUND IT TO BE VERY INTERESTING. IT HAS HELPED ME IN MY INTEREST IN BECOMING A DELTA. IT IS A MUST FOR ANY DELTA OR A WANNA BE DELTA.

Summary: A must read...
Review: I have to admit.. the first time that I read this book, I was a sopohmore in college. A member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. advised me that I should read the book because it would answer any questions that I had about the sorority. I read the book and was a little dissapointed because it did not give me any information about the 'intake process'. Now, 3 years later.. I decided to read the book again.. this time.. I am finding that I can't put the book down. It gives alot of information and it also discusses the triumphs of the 22 ladies.. from the suffrage movement all the way to present. Now, after reading and understanding this book.. I know why I am still interested in becoming a member.

Summary: book lacks spaghetti incident
Review: I noticed that this book unfortunately lacked all accounts of the famed spaghetti throwing incident at Northwestern University's Foster Walker Complex. I think this was an especially important chapter in the history of Delta Sigma Theta and their lack of respect for sleeping residents of the university dormitory.

Summary: A Foundation
Review: I purchased In Search For Sisterhood prior to joining Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I knew why I wanted to be a Delta however, I realized that at first it was for reasons not significant. This book enable me to see the strides the Sorority had made in regards to women's rights, African American's rights, etc. It was from this book that allowed me to truly understand the depths of my twenty-two founder's accomplishments. If you are buying this book thinking that Soror Giddings is going to give you info. in regards to our Sorority that's confidential, then this book isn't for you. However, if you are reading this book to find the basis of Delta Sigma Theta founding, it's founders, and its progress through the years, it will provide you with that. Hopefully through reading this text, a potential member will be able to decipher whether or not Delta Sigma Theta is suited for them. I know it sealed the deal for me. OOoooh oop to Soror Giddings and to all the Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. especially those with Theta Omega and Alpha Delta. Yours In Delta....

Summary: The Book That Helped Me Through It!
Review: I purchased In Search Of Sisterhood prior to pledging Delta Sigma Theta, and I must say it was a great help. To many I am sure know that while pledging Delta, knowledge is the key. I have always known that I wanted to be a Delta, but this was a good book and a great help in guiding me down my chosen path.

Summary: Comments from a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
Review: I read this book also. As a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. I find it uplifiting to see sisters that are dedicated to serving our communities and getting involved in politics because these things do affect our lives. I take my hat off to this sorority. Although, I made a different (*better*-smile-) choice, had I not found something that better suited me, I would definteley have considered Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Summary: Insightful
Review: I read this book one year ago, while doing research on this sorority because I planned on pledgiong in the near future. I found it extremely informative and exciting, tracing back the inception of this sorority, its dedication to community service and sisterhood. I would recommend this book to any sister interested in becoming a member of Delta Sigma Theta.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: historically and socially insightful
Review: i think that this book is not only a book about this specific sorority but a historical book that is not to be judged purely by the characters in it. Beyond the fact that this book speaks about the contribution of the members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, it also chronicles the contributions of black women. If people read this book to find about a membership intake process or about a "pledge" process then they are more than likely going to get disappointed. Black people in general should want to read this book because this is their history and we as a people need to grab and hold and digest accounts of days gone by as often as we can.

Summary: A DST Hopeful
Review: I was always interested in becoming a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. I bought the book about 3 years ago and never got past the first page. Clearly I was not aware of the total life change of becoming a member of this beloved sisterhood. I picked the book back up about a year ago and I couldn't put it down. I was in total amazement. The level of service that these strong women provide to our community is unparalleled. Thank you Ms. Giddings for writing such a powerful piece of history for those of us interested in DST sisterhood.
