Review: I found this book to truthfully reflect what is on the CBEST. The test was directly reflected in the examples. It was easy to follow the explanations and the test taking tips were outstanding. Forget Barron's. It is nothing like the test at all. If you study Cracking the CBEST, you should do just fine.

Review: I got this book and studied a couple weeks before I took the test, mainly the math part because I am horrible at math. The book explains everything carefully and in detail so that even those who are math-deficient, such as myself, can understand. I highly recommend this book for anyone taking the CBEST. It was definitely money well spent!!

Summary: Excellent Preparation Book
Review: I just took the CBEST exam on Saturday (December 1, 2001) having spent a few hours over a couple of weeks with this book and was extremely impressed with the complete and practical layout. The tips are very useful and the exercises easy to understand. The practice exams are very realistic and there were no suprises when it came to the actual exam. I would hightly recommend this to any one who has been out of school for awhile and would like to efficiently get ready for the CBEST. I selected this book based on the other reviews at Amazon.com and they were all accurate.

Review: I spent alot of time banging my head upon the other CBEST books on the market before a friend passed the Princeton Review's book to me. WOW! I don't know where they got this guy who wrote the book, but he is great! I've never seen an educational book that was so much fun! I actually read parts of it out loud to friends not even taking the CBEST! And does it work? You bet. There's no way I could have gotten this high of a score without Cracking the CBEST!

Review: I truly believe that my dreams of becoming a teacher are going to be realized thanks in no small part to this book. I was especially weak in my basic understanding of math, and this review was invaluable. It is clearly written, goal-oriented, and surprisingly enough, enjoyable to work through. Review: I was so prepared for the Cbest because of this book. It must be read from cover to cover and do the 3 sample tests. I passed the Cbest the first time. I owe my success to this book.

Summary: Easy Test, book not neccessary for all
Review: If you graduated from high school you will past this test. If you have major test anxiety, then it might help you, but other wise it really isn't needed. Most topics that are covered are ninth grade or lower in level. And even then, you only need to get around 60% correct in the math and reading portion to pass (in cali. no one will see the scores)

Summary: A Must Have Before Taking the CBEST!!!
Review: My friend recommened Princeton Review to me when he found out i was taking the CBEST, and this one by Rick Sliter does not let you down! Instead of trying to cram you with a lot of information you may not need, Sliter introduces techniques on how to 'crack' the different sections of the CBEST. The material presented was true to the actual exam and his techinques were very usefull. It is written in a clear and precise language without putting you to sleep. Except for a few minor typo's the book was excellent!
