Summary: I passed on my first try!
Review: After a twenty-four year absence from teaching, I decided to return to academia! This book helped restore knowledge I thought I had long since lost. By the time I finished reading it, I felt as if I had just graduated from high school! I was still nervous on the day of the test, but was relieved to find no surprises in the content and procedure. I don't think I would have passed this exam without the excellent review and tips contained within this book.

Summary: This book puts all previous CBEST books to shame.
Review: Cracking the CBEST is an amazing tool for anyone looking to gain admittance into a Teaching Credential Program. I used the book and got an amazing csore on the test, which helped me gain entrance to my top choice TEP program. I've looked at other CBEST books, and they are all terrible. I was so happy to see this book come out, just in time for me to take the CBEST. Overall, it is very well written, and the sample questions gave me a good idea what to expect on the test.

Summary: Money well spent
Review: Cracking the CBEST is well worth the money if only for the practice exams (but you get only two). Although I found them to be slightly easier on the whole than the actual CBEST, the peace of mind it brought me made this a purchase I don't regret. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this book (or another in the series) again.

Summary: Great Study Tool!!
Review: For those who wish to teach the nation's children there are numerous obstacles to overcome, and the CBEST is one of them. Cracking the CBEST truly helped me make it past this one of many steps towards my teaching degree. I live in Nevada and had to travel two and half hours to take the test, so there was a definite need to be prepared. If I failed then it would be back home to study and redo the portion that I failed (there are three portions: mathematics, reading comp, and some essays).My advice is to get this book well in advance of your test date so that you will be able to apply the many valuable test-taking tips given by the author. Study hard and you too will be able to overcome this hurdle and move ahead to your future as an educator. Enjoy, I know you will. With effort come rewards, and sometimes we just need a little help. Cracking the CBEST really does help you'll see....

Summary: CBEST Preparation to have and to AVOID
Review: I agree with the majority of the reviewers here. When preparing for the CBEST I used this book, and studied the material from cover to cover. Admitedly, the tests seem to be a little harder than the actual exam, however, this is to your benefit because you will have a better feel for the exam. What I liked about this study guide, is that they throw at you a lot of potential questions on the sample tests, that are pretty similar, or near the difficulty level that is expected of you to know. Whatever question you missed out on, always be sure to find your mistakes. The questions you were right on, reinforce what you did well, and do the same thing on the test.<P...Use the Princeton Review CBEST book as well as other legit texts here on amazon.com and you should be fine. Save your $$, and if you want to read more, do an internet search about this company, or visit teacher discussion boards. Other students will tell you the same thing. But for the CBEST, use Princeton Reviews book and you will be in excellent shape!

Summary: This book was a lifesaver.
Review: I bought this book without knowing anything about the CBEST, and it was very helpful in my studying. It was easy to read and seemed to be written with the average student in mind. The first time I took the test, I mutated, but the second time I passed the test, thanks to The Princeton Review and Mr. Sliter. Not bad for someone who has only been speaking English for a year!

Summary: Passed with no sweat
Review: I decided to enroll and take the test at the last minute. This book was great for helping me to cram. I brushed up on my math skills and had a couple of english reminders. The book was easy to read and study from. I think that it was a good example of what the CBEST was really like. I highly recommend it. I had friends who used other books and they said the material in their books was completely different from the test. Cracking the CBEST hit it straight on! Good Luck!
