Rating: Summary: DO YOURSELF A FAVOR - GET THIS BOOK! Review: I just want to "echo" the reviews of Beyond the Grave found here on Amazon. I was about to get Shenkman's book, but then I read an Amazon review of his book which said to forget the Shenkman book and get the Condon book. Very readable, practical and, if you can believe it, funny! Condon really knows how to get the information across to us regular people. I don't know how the Condon book compares to other inheritance books, but do yourself a favor and start with the Condon book.

Rating: Summary: Loved It! Review: I recently bought the book "Beyond the Grave" just after my second parent passed away and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to read about such a morbid subject. I only wish my parents would have taken the advice from the Condons and had left their inheritance equally to me and my 5 siblings so that no feelings would have been hurt when distributing items listed in the family trust. I highly recommend parents of all ages to read this book and use it as a guideline for their living trust.

Rating: Summary: Everyone Can Learn Something from this Book Review: I thought this book pointed out many types of situations and gave good ideas and strategies for avoiding problems both while you are living and after you die and leave your assets to your beneficiaries. I did, however, feel that a lot of the examples were geared for those with significant estates. Most of the examples discuss people with estates well over $1,000,000. With that being said, even though my estate doesn't come close to this amount, the author gave me a lot to think about and I felt he had excellent advice -- even if all of it didn't apply to my particular situation. In my opinion, no matter how big or small your estate is, this book is worth the read if you are planning your estate. I feel that everyone has something to learn from the various situations the authors discuss in their book. Thank you Gerald and Jeffery Condon for being the eyes and ears from beyond the grave and helping us all learn from yours and your many clients mistakes.
Rating: Summary: A Well-Written Legal Book in <gasp!> Plain English Review: I'm a lawyer and an editor, and I have high praise for this book. It covers the breadth of a subject that touches ALL people (and confuses many of them) and -- bless you, Messrs. Condon! -- does it in plain English to boot. My advice to potential readers: Invest in or borrow this book, then follow its advice. My advice to the authors: You gentlemen should tackle law school textbooks next.
Rating: Summary: This is a book every parent should read Review: I'm an estate planning attorney and I enthusiastically reccomend this book. It explains things in plain English, and explains why many things that seem like good ideas will not work.
Rating: Summary: Best Book on Estate Planning Review: The #1 reason I bought this book compared to other estate book is because of the wonderful reviews. This is the second estate book that I've read. Reading this book from cover to cover says it all. It is a fantastic book on estate planing. The first estate book left me a bit comfused, but after reading this book I understand it all. Don't make a will or living trust without first reading this book. It has human nature emotions and question that you are too scared to ask. It even have the consequences of making decision based on other people experience.
Rating: Summary: Stop *thinking* you're doing it right, KNOW you are: buy it Review: The advice dispensed in this book is some of the most valuable I have ever read. I thought I knew what I was doing and told myself I would use this book to "double check" myself. What I learned two chapters in showed that I was making classic mistakes that would pit others against each other and dissolve relationships. Although the book is meticulous in its detail only some of the situations would apply to any one person, but still 5 stars because the info is of such a high caliber. Highest recommendation.
