Summary: The Reading Lesson: Teach Your Child to Read in 20 Easy Less
Review: I started my daughter on this program on her 4th birthday. I was already teaching her using the same approach, but I did not have a companion text. The Reading Lesson met the need perfectly. She progressed rapidly and can read several children's books already, eventhough we have only finished the first 5 lessons!

The success is in the approach. The instructions to the teacher are very clear and logical. I will use this text with my youngest daughter as well. I highly recommend this text.

Summary: not as good as 100 Easy Lessons
Review: After reviewing the website at reading lesson dot com, I can say without equivocation that Teach your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons is a better way to go. The first lesson attempts to teach five new sounds and to use them in words and pretends that the first time reader will be able to do each lesson in twenty minutes. Impossible! 100 Easy Lessons builds in a reasonable manner that increases the challenge as the student progresses. The lessons rarely take more than twenty minutes and my son enjoys it.

Summary: A READING PROGRAM WELL WORTH THE MONEY
Review: I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking to give their child a head start in reading. I purchased the book along with the CD-ROM for my 5 yr. old daughter. She enjoys the reading lesson so much that she reminds me daily, "it's time for the reading lesson". Before purchasing the reading lesson I downloaded the first two lessons (free) from thereadinglesson.com website and my daughter was thrilled that she knew how to read. Prior to the reading lesson my daughter had trouble remembering words and letter sounds. But just after a few lessons she would remember words and sounds easily. We read 3-4 pages a day for maybe 15 minutes. It's been about a month and a half and my daughter is now on lesson eight and reading (words in lesson eight) with minimal help. She also just had her interview for kindergarten and her teacher was amazed at how much she knew. Each lesson begins with brief instructions and tips on reading. I would suggest purchasing the book along with the CD-ROM (not only because it's fun) but the child would learn the correct way to sound out letters. The program is so simple with amazing results!

Summary: Amazing book
Review: I'm using the "Reading Lesson" with my 4-year-old son with wonderful results: he's eager to do the lessons, enjoys them enormously and as a result has become an avid reader. We live in Brazil, so the book's also been heaven-sent as a way of keeping English alive and interesting to him. I'd highly recommend it to other bilingual families.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: I have a 4 year old daughter who have mastered the art of reading after 4 months in this program. She cannot get enough of it. Now she is an avid reader and has increased her reading comprehension tremendously. I trully recommend this book to all mothers who would like to give their children a fresh start in reading.

Summary: Great book for young learns
Review: I purchased this book in order to teach my four year old to read. He has a VERY short attention span and each page can be reviewed and mastered in under ten minutes. We do just one page per day and he retains the material very well. The lessons are very easy to do with your child and my son was able to read after completing the first lesson. It is important that your kid know the alphabet and have some character recognition.

Summary: The Reading Lesson
Review: My grandson Luke, age 6, started to learn how to read this past year in kindergarten. I wanted to help him increase his skills over the summer and found "The Reading Lesson" on the internet. There were 2 chapters to download to see if you would like the book. I tried them out on Luke and he loved them. We are now on Chapter 5 and Luke's skills have skyrocketed! We also got the companion CD. I use this as his reward for finishing a chapter. The CD reinforces what you learn in the book. It is very pleasing to a child, with easy to understand word exercises and games. One of Luke's favorites is the fishing boat game on the CD. This book is an excellent tool for very early readers or a great companion for beginning school readers. If your child is ready to read, this book is a must! It has everything you need to help your child learn to read. I also think this book would be excellent for teaching adults to read. Can't say enough about the book. GREAT!

Summary: Great book for teaching your child to read
Review: I have been looking for a book that would help me teach my 4 1/2 year old daughter how to read. I'm glad I bought it because this book is it! I am very pleased with the book. The pictures are cute which helps my daughter who is quite a visual learner. My daughter was so happy because she was able to read from lesson 1.

I ordered the book from the website and was pleasantly surprised to find that the Reading Lesson CD rom was included, free. My daughter really likes the CD rom. She gets so excited when it's time to do her reading lesson. We do 1 a day and her favorite part is getting the gold trophy at the end of each lesson. She's even able to totally go through each lesson at her own pace since she's in control of the mouse. I sit with her so that I can hear her reading the words. Even my 3 year old son, who is speech delayed, was interested in the lesson. He pronounced the letter sounds.

Overall, I am very pleased with the Reading Lesson. It is probably the best investment I have made because my daughter is so thrilled at the fact that she can actually read other books as well.

Summary: Offers parents a structured phonic teaching method
Review: The Reading Lesson offers parents a structured phonic teaching method based on modern reading theory with an innovative guided reading approach to helping their sons and daughters learn to read with ease and interest. By following the instructions and employing the resources offered by this thoroughly "user friendly", do-it-yourself reading program just ten minutes a day, children will learn to read new letters and words and develop the skills to enjoy short stories. The stories are simple, fun, and will inculcate a love of reading as they offer practice for reading skill applications. Every lesson is enhanced with pictures to color, matching exercises, puzzles, and other reading activities. An accompanying CD-ROM makes The Reading Lesson a truly interactive resource eminently suitable for home schooling, as well as parentally supervised supplementation to public or private school reading instruction curriculums.

Summary: A Review of The Reading Lesson
Review: This is simply an excellent reading program.

I'm truly impressed with this reading program because it gets the child reading right away. Having been a teacher for many years and having taught many different age groups and abilities, I must say that this program is truly something every child would benefit from.

The Langtons have taken the time to understand the child. Most children simply do not want to take weeks to learn the sounds of letters or months to learn to write them. They want to read! They want to read now! This program lets them do just that.

My five-year-old daughter has been enjoying this program immensely. Each day, she brings me the reading book and asks to do another lesson! How many programs do that?

I recommend this reading program to anyone who wants to make reading fun and easily obtainable.
