Summary: Helpful book loaded with lots of good info!
Review: I absolutely loved this book! I've been looking for information to help me to understand many of the digestive problems that I've experienced. Women ARE different than men...especially on the insides. This book clearly explains some of the causes and brings forth solutions to help you avoid some of the not so comfortable problems. This not only helped me to understand the inner me and what's potentially going on in there, but also helped me to be more prepared for my next doctor's visit. I like Dr. Yoshida's whole approach to patient care and especially for her genuine focus on women and their well-being.

Summary: good but preachy
Review: I liked this book for all of the great information in it about digestive problems and explanations. The descriptions and writing style are helpful and easy to understand.

My main problem with this book is the amount of time spent preaching about weight issues in women. Obviously, the author does not have a weight problem and never has had one. She cannot relate effectively to people that do and those sections on weight come across as condescending at best. If you need those sections and want her unsolicited advice, then read those chapters. I skipped them and the book was much more enjoyable and effective.

Summary: I was a bit disappointed...
Review: I picked up this book because of Yoshida's qualifications, research and dedication to women's health issues. No book can replace a visit to your doctor, but this book helped me to understand my some of my tummy problems a little more. Yoshida looks great on the cover and if she is the result of her endorsement for a well-balanced lifestyle...then more power to her and the words she shares with us. I hope she continues her research and continues to write and share her findings with us.

Summary: I was a bit disappointed...
Review: I purchased this book because it stated it was written by a leading GI Doctor especially for women. It promises to answer all questions and give real solutions to stop pain and achieve lasting digestive health. Well, I have read the entire book and found it to be mostly repetitive, somewhat condescending, lacks some current medical prescriptions, and does not include natural holistic medicines and techniques. Her solution to everything seems to be weight-loss. This book is okey. But, I had expected better. Instead of this book, I would recommend the following books: Balanced Healing By Dr Larry Altshuler, & The Chronic Pain Solution By Dr James Dillard. These two books are very informative and helpful.

Summary: waste of money
Review: If you are a middle age woman who has been seeking answers and looking at various solutions for awhile, you may find this book a waste of time as well as money. Along with the author's condescending style (she only has a little tummy pooch so she's learned how accept a bit of imperfection---why can't everyone else??) based on her own lack of problems (especially, but not exclusively, weight issues), the best information she can offer is how to go about looking for the right doctor who will help you. Not much self-help advice which is what I was seeking. Do you need to buy a book to tell you to go see a good doctor? I broke with tradition and thought there might be help from someone who's research was not based on their own experience---I'm disappointed here.

Review: This book is what every woman should know about their insides. A "must-have" to refer to at every stage of a woman's life. Yoshida explained complicated biological processes into easy to understand terms and helped me to get to know my body in a whole new level.
