Rating: Summary: Chapter 11? Review: Trump Casinos are on the verge of bankcruptcy. You wanna take advice from this guy?
Rating: Summary: "Hey Donnie Baby, Guess What? You're Fired!" Review: What a "HAM" in every sense of the word! Donald Trump you and your advice are really something..Full of SHI_! How in God's Green Acres can you look in the mirror each and every day knowing all the money you have made and gone through! When is enuff...enuff? You are too much, honestly! Shameless Extreme. Young women, tons of money, and you're still unhappy and don't know what to do with yourself or your sad pathetic life. Why don't you take some of the zillions dollars you have and do some good with it for a change, there are millions of poor in the USA that need a helping hand. Just a thought!
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable lessons from Trump Review: Trump's most valuable lesson is to think positively... and BIG. This mentality underlies all of his actions. The book isn't a formula for success, but many of its (or his, rather) principles are a great start. The lessons seem common-sensical, but often taking the common sense out of business success is difficult and taken for granted. The writing style, much like Trump, is enjoyable, doesn't tiptoe, and quickly gets to the point (many chapters were one page), so it's a two hour read if you choose to take it in that way. A better method would be to read a chapter a week and reflect on its lesson during daily life; Trump's lessons are extracted from years of his personal life and career. Two last comments: -Trump says "If someone hurts you, go after them viciously and violently." I didn't see an example and don't understand the logic behind this one. -The Apprentice section and the "Day in the Life" were snooze-worthy.
Rating: Summary: entertaining autobio Review: I couldn't wait to purchase this book and read it, especially when it said there are five billion reasons to read this book. If you are expecting this book to show you all the secrets of making money, this book definitely misleads from its title. Now that I have just finished, I'm not sure how much it is related to "How to Get Rich". Basically, Donald gives advices on negotiation, hard-work, basic money sense and how to be your best (just like him). May be these are the essential attributes of becoming successful and rich. By applying his advice, you could see some self improvement or feel richer for life but not necessarily financially richer. It's a very concise and almost comical. Each section is short and cleverly titled, like a marketing schemes, and you actually have fun reading it. However, I find the description on a typical week of his life repetitive and boring. The last chapter on The Apprentice is a waste. If you watch the show, there's no point in reading it. Donald lists a lot of names and shows a lot personality in the writing. He complemented many MANY people but also didn't hold back on his dislikes and enemies. Overall, the book should be appropriately titled as "How to be like The Donald", an autobiography by Donald Trump. Paying $20 to get inside the head of a flaunting real estate mogul is probably worth it, at least the book is entertaining like his show.
Rating: Summary: How to get $15 richer: don't buy this book! Review: If you've read *any* of Donald Trump's previous books (especially "The Art of the Deal" and "The Art of the Comeback") which were surprisingly fascinating, you're going to HATE this book. It's not worth your money, especially if you've read "The Art of the Comeback", which was an excellent book. If you've never read a book by Donald Trump before, I would recommend his book, titled "The Art of the Deal" (which is coincidentally available on Amazon.com right now). I gave this book two stars because there are a few things in this book that can't be found in his earlier editions: updated pics of his children; info on his new girlfriend Melania; and a new section on "The Apprentice." Otherwise, everything else in the book is material that is regurgitated from his previous books. For someone who values high quality work, I'm shocked that he placed his name on this book.
Rating: Summary: Top in Real Estate Review: Every time this guy comes back from the dead, you can bet on a top in real estate. Look, I know this guy came back from being down 9 billion or so, but guess what? He got lucky. The banks didn't call in his loans because they couldn't! This time, the bursting of the American real estate bubble will take him out for good, and it's going to be ugly. His casinos are already going down the tubes. Time for a haircut Mr. Trump, literally and figuratively. Art of the Deal was a great book. Unfortunately, this one is 90% hot air. When he schleps a stupid spot for Verizon, you know it's over.
Rating: Summary: The art of the rip-off............ Review: I want my money back. This book is total garbage. It is nothing more than a collection of the same stories told from "the art of the comeback"(which was a decent book), along with some new material about the TV show. I could have saved my money and just read "the art of the comeback" one more time. This version is just a shameless attempt to capitalize on the success of "the apprentice". I have read every one of Donald Trump's books, and always enjoyed them. This was a major disappointment from someone whom I have idolized over the years. The only ones who can get rich from this book are Donald Trump and his publisher. Save your money.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: Throughout Trump's book, one word could coincide with richness, and this word is passion. If you're passionate and dedicated to what you do, you can become rich. If you go above and beyond by studying your markets, have a keen understanding of people, your likelihood of becoming rich is greater. Throughout the book, Trump states his beliefs, and relates to the reader through his experiences on how he has become successful. His insightfulness in "How to Get Rich," encourages you to build upon Trump's philosophies, of becoming rich. The book is well written, fun to read, and you can read it pretty quickly. Trump explores his accomplishments in real estate, how he does it with perfection, despite the fact that not everything is perfect, shows you that you too can create richness over time. He gives examples of others who have been successful, and makes a point that it takes diligence, in addition to a vision. He emphasizes networking with the people who are tops in their field. I highly recommend this book. Eric Leebow-Author of "You Are Here Traveling with JohnnyJet.com"
Rating: Summary: gee thanks, don Review: Let's see -- how to get rich, in the manner of Donald Trump: 1) Be born into a family with lots of money to begin with. 2) Get lots of tax cuts from a beleaguered New York City government. 3) Get the banks to bail you out when you overextend yourself. 4) Promote yourself like mad. 5) Bend or ignore any laws that don't suit you. If Theodore Dreiser were alive today, he'd be writing books about this grandstander.
Rating: Summary: Not worth it Review: This book reminds me of two things: 1 - Students who put together a quick, sloppy paper just to meet an assignment deadline. I think "The Apprentice" window dictated a deadline for publishing this book. I suspect that Mr. trump will one day look back at this book and say "I can't believe that I put my name on this thing" 2 - Late night TV commercials with "Send me $30.00 and I will show you how to get rich." I don't know anybody who got rich doing it that. I suspect no body will get rich reading this book either. The content is mostly self-promoting, lacks any cohesion and sometimes not worth remembering for one minute. Mr. Trump takes a whole "chapter" advising people to stop shaking hands because he doesn't like it. How will that advice make anybody rich? That is just an example of how silly this book is. For full disclosure, I didn't finish reading the book. It was simply not serious and certainly not worth the time.
