Rating: Summary: The year for Trump Review: 2004 seems to be a great year for Donald Trump. Hit tv show and a best selling book and business is great. Hey Donald, I think you should run for President again. I bet you get more votes than Kerry does. (you would make a better President too!)Congrats Mr. Trump on a great book on all of your success. And thank you for sharing.
Rating: Summary: This book is OUTSTANDING! Review: I cannot the 1 star reviews. I guess as a higher power than me said; 'forgive them for they have eyes but cannot see.' Trump spills the beans on what it takes to become a success in this new book by Donald. I bought it yesterday at Costco (SORRY AMAZON; I didn't want to wait or pay shipping and I no longer patronize Amazon since they deleted some of my and my associates reviews) and read through hald of it before going to bed last night. This is one great book. Thank you Donald!
Rating: Summary: The MAN!!!!! Review: If you are going to learn how to fish, you would take lessons from a good fisherman right? Well, if you are going to build wealth, makes sense to learn from someone who has done it. And done it again. And again. And again. Very few successful people share their wealth of knowledge and far too many books are written by paper tigers who have never and cannot walk the walk. Donald walks the walk and talks the talk. Donald is THE MAN!!!
Rating: Summary: The way to get rich, real rich. Review: A millionaire once said that the way to become rich is to take a millionaire out to lunch and pick his brain. Take a millionaire out to lunch and pay for it. If the guy is rich he should pay for my lunch right? Wrong! If you have been to college, you paid for it. If you want the wisdom of the super wealthy, pay for it. The other day I was at BAMM and took Donald Trump to lunch via his book and previewed while eating lunch at Joe Muggs cafe. Best lunch I ever had and I bought the book. Well worth it. That millionaire was right. Take a millionaire to lunch and learn all you can. When it comes to wealth building I would much rather listen to someone like Trump then these parrots who keep reguritating the same stuff over and over in their overpriced books. I only wish Donald would offer me a shot on The Apprentice. Great show and a great book Donald.
Rating: Summary: Ignore 1 star reviews - they can't help it! Review: Poor, poor 1 star reviewers have nothing to do with their time but bash good books like this one by Donald Trump. These are the same people who post and repost endless helpful votes to those stupid anti-Bush books and would rather have you read some worthless financial b.s. by someone like Jane Bryant Quinn. What has she ever accomplished and who haas she ever helped to achieve wealth? Hello??? This book by Donald Trump shows you how to become rich. It that is your goal, I highly recommend it. On the other hand, if you prefer to spend all of time bashing good books, playing pc games with Grand Auto Theft and watch movies like Motel Hell and hawk books by disgruntled white house personel, then sorry I guess you will have to be satisfied with what you've got (I would rather have what Donald's got) Good book for wealth builders. If you are happy with mediocre books, then go read Jane Bryant Quinns book.
Rating: Summary: How to get rich. Review: Write how to get rich books. The only ones who will ever get rich off of books like this are the authors. Still it's fun to read.
Rating: Summary: Short & To The Point Review: This book was short and to the point, much like the way Donald Trump conducts his business. There are many important little points of advice given throughout the book that make it worth your while to purchase and read. Sure, there probably could have been more elaborate chapters giving more in depth advice, but he's not that type of person. The book comes right out and gives you the advice he feels is most pertinent. For example, one of his chapters is entitled: "Bullshi* Only Gets You So Far". A lot can be learned from this book in my opinion.
Rating: Summary: Not a lot of substance, but you have to appreciate his gaul! Review: This book is light on substance and lighter on style. The only redeeming quality to it is that this guy was able to sucker over a million people into paying money to read it. Priceless. Some of his other books actually have some useful insights, although none of them is close to being the best in this genre. The Art of the Deal is worth listening to on audio book. I do take issue to the book's title. That's just shameless grandstanding, and it's totally inappropriate for this book. It's no secret that Trump used his TV show as a jump-off point to sell this book so he should have used a title that was related to that. mdavia2's review was dead on. But still, Trump put his name on such a terrible book, got some ghostwriter to do all the work, and still got over a million suckers to buy it. There has to be something to be said for that! I wish I could make money off of it. :) Want to learn how to get rich? Read "Think and Grow Rich" instead. Need something to steady that wobbily table? At just over 2 inches thick, this book might do the trick.
Rating: Summary: 3 1/2 stars Review: Let's be honest: This book doesn't really teach you how to get rich. If you are looking for a more insightful book, you might want to try his original book: The Art of the Deal. What this book will tell you though are (1) the way he works with his staffs and (2) the business rules he uses to do business. (1) The Way he works with his staff: As in many of his other books, Trump doesn't spell out a to do list. He likes to "teach" by telling you stories of what he did and that. Once you get past his "bragging" style, i think the reader would appreciate the way he reads people, his loyalty to his staffs, and the way he uses persuasion to get the other side to work out a deal with him. It's amazing when you think about it, his deals are hundreds of millions/billion dollars deal...and someone actually gets persuaded by him. (2) His Business Rules: They are somewhat common sense and he doesn't go into pages and pages of academic proofs. They are very easy to remember, but i think it's worth saying that actually most people don't follow them in real life. And i think that's what makes them "special". I think Trump also reveals a side of him that is typically not seen when he is on TV. He is actually a very cautious guy behind that over the top bragging image. So, this book alone won't make you a billionaire, but it does shed lights on how he had built a strong business team/organization to help him get rich.
Rating: Summary: The Donald Review: I must say that I enjoyed reading his book. Will I get rich? No. A lot of what he sez is simply common sense. I read it as a biography, more than a self help book. I like to hear "The Donald" talk about himself, as well as, his employees, friends, family, etc. If you go in thinking this way, you will enjoy it also.
