Rating: Summary: Don't buy unless you are going into full time program! Review: Don't bother with this book unless you are going into a full time "traditional" program. It will be useless to you. As usual, these sort of books show an overwheming disdain for part-time programs and any non-Ivy League program. Save your $ for tuition!
Rating: Summary: Must Read Review: I am a thorough researcher and have now broused or completely read tens of books on b-school, in an effort to really understand how to make business school the most valuable experience possible. This one is the best. It is clear that the authors have unparalleled perpective, understanding and ability to communicate the most important aspects of the whole process.
Rating: Summary: A MUST READ - A True Benefit For Those Entertaining B School Review: I have recommended this book to everyone I know who is either entertaining or enrolled in business school. As a former B-School Student, I can honestly tell you that this is a book with tremendous value. The CEO reviews are very useful, and I love the way this book takes real insight from real students who have been there before. The material is current, honest, and useful. I can think of no better resource than this book if you are thinking about applying to business school or are currently enrolled in business school. These authors have done a FANTASTIC job and Business School Confidential will undoubtedly be an important/value added supplement to your b-school experience. Every business school should make this a MANDATORY summer read for their incoming students. Three words "BUY IT NOW!"
Rating: Summary: Wish I had this before I got my MBA Review: My wife and I both attended top business schools (HBS and Kellogg) and we have recommended this book to numerous friends who are applying to or starting business school. It tells the reader what we wanted to know before starting school.Great source material from many students at a wide variety of schools and written by a recent grad. Many other books just focus on getting in, but this one treats the application process as part of the larger experience from application to finding a job. I read a lot of these a few years ago, and wish this one had come out then.
Rating: Summary: A book that's actually really helpful Review: This book helped me figure out whether I should go to b school or not. And now that I'm applying I feel like I have a really good idea as to what to expect once I'm there. I highly recommend this to anyone thinking about going to business school and those just about to go.
Rating: Summary: For students and for parents, too Review: This book is a great gift for a parent to buy for their child when he or she is either considering going to or is in business school, because it sets out important practical information about how to approach goals, decisions and processes. In this world, most of us are going to be happy to have a possible leg up on success, and this book appears to be a big help in that direction. Naturally, if the parent is like many of us, he or she will want to read the book first to get the lowdown, too!
Rating: Summary: Vital Guide to Business School Planning Review: This book is actually useful (unlike most other guides I read)! It's not only helpful during the application process, but also in deciding whether an MBA is for you. I particularly liked the CEO interviews...reading opinions of successful business leaders on the merits of an MBA was invaluable. I've been recommending this book to all of my friends who are considering b-school.
Rating: Summary: Very helpful and insightful! Review: This is a must-have for B-school students... provides tons of useful info and it really seems like the author's know what they are talking about!
Rating: Summary: Excellent and insightful Review: This is a really thoughtful guide to the entire business school experience, from deciding whether an MBA is right for you to landing the job that you want. It has a realistic view on what to expect at school and what you want to get out of grad school. This is a great read for anyone who is considering pursuing their MBA, as well as for MBAs who are looking for jobs. The book is very well written and insightful.
