Rating: Summary: Good Foundation Review: The book served as a good basic source for the Marketing CLEP. However I found it missing concept and terminology in contemporary marketing. No internet marketing which CLEP test does contain. In addition to this book, I studied a current marketing textbook and passed the test. In my estimate 20% of the test is common sense, 50% can be learned from this book, and the remaining 30% coming from a current marketing textbook. Besides taking the practice exams in this book, which are quite good, I suggest one review the marketing practice exams provided by CLEP at Collegeboard.com
Rating: Summary: This CLEP is pretty easy Review: This book covered the core material on the test. As others mentioned it does not go over internet marketing which is on the CLEP. I only skimmed the book and studied half of it before taking the test (not a whole lot of prep) and passed with a 69. Do not worry about studying too hard, this is one of the easiests CLEPs (I have taken 3 others).

Rating: Summary: Well arranged and very well written Review: This book helped me very well preparing for the clep examination offered at the Base Education office. Without the aid of this reference I don't feel my chances of passing would have been close to what they are. The references in the book are a little weak in calculating prices. If you don't have some experience in economics look forward to seeking further assistance. It is needed for the exam. Thanks Amazon... Gunnery Sergeant Walker
Rating: Summary: Worth the money, but... Review: This book is a good book in the sense that you have 3 real practice tests and the chapters are very short. This book omits marketing tactics used for the internet. If you have a basic understanding of micro/macro economics, that is definitely going to help you on this test. Overall, an easy CLEP exam that doesn't require an inordinate amount of study time to pass.
Rating: Summary: First time cleper Review: This book is a good source. I used this book and Marketing (Barron's Busines review) text, which I proabably did not need. I studied this book for about a week and a half. I passed the clep with a 62 and you only need 50. If you are not familiar with internet marketing you may want do a small reveiw in that subject along with this book.
Rating: Summary: Mediocre Prep, but Useful Review: This book is divided into two parts: a "comprehensive" review (which is only 46 pages long) and three full-length practice exams. The "comprehensive" review isn't exactly comprehensive. However, the 3 sample exams do contain explanations on why the correct answer is correct and can help you focus your study efforts. For research-oriented learners, you can read the questions, then look up the answer or search for it. For those who want to read the material first then see how well they retained it, you will be disappointed. This isn't a teach-and-test type of book. Many questions are on topics that are not presented in the "comprehensive review." It gives you the bare minimum, followed by a representation of the marketing CLEP exam (as it was in past years). You are left to fill in the blanks. I give it three stars, primarily because it does help to study for the exam, and compared with the other resources available (textbooks, CliffsNotes-type books, etc.), it is better than blindly guessing at the test objectives. As someone who has prepared for numerous certification exams, I wish there were some resources available for CLEP and DANTES examinations, like the ExamCram and ExamPrep variety. Until then, this is the best book in the genre for preparing for the marketing exam. Sad, but true.
