Rating: Summary: Pass the Principles of Marketing CLEP with points to spare Review: Buy this book, study it for a couple of weeks (I studied for maybe 12 hours total), and take the practice exams. If you've passed the practice exams by a decent margin, you should be ready to go. I'm definitely not a business whiz, yet I came in scoring in the top 1 percentile using this book. Note: while there WILL be a few questions with terminology or subject matter not directly covered in this guide, this book for the most part will equip you to deal with these questions if you have good test taking skills (able to recognize concepts via context, etc). REA and the authors have done an exceptional job.
Rating: Summary: Good resource for CLEP Review: For the CLEP:Principles of Marketing, I studied mostly from this book, and to some extent from Barron's Business Review-Marketing. The book is useful because : - it covers almost all the topics needed for study - the questions are similar ( difficulty level, type , etc.) to the actual test questions - the explanations to the questions are helpful in understanding the topics Some drawbacks are : - The study matter/chapters are too brief ( the questions and the answers sort of compensate for that ) - Internet/e-commerce is left outOverall, this book would definitely help in passing the CLEP exam. I took mine yesterday and got 74.
Rating: Summary: Clep Marketing Disaster Review: I can appreciate the reviews that have been submitted by the other students, but my evaluation, of the effectiveness of this book, is quite different. First, I'll start by stating that I am a 4.0 student and, also, that I have successfully passed the management, economics, and accounting CLEP tests. However, I found that less than 40% of the material covered in this text is present in the current CLEP exam. In all fairness, I haven't received my results yet, so I have no idea if I scrapped by, but if I did it isn't because of this study aid. It's simply blind luck.
Rating: Summary: Not that great for the 2001 exam Review: I don't know how often the CLEP Board changes their test layout but I agree with the reviewer from Littleton, CO. This book covers only 30-40% of the material that was asked on the April, 2001 exam. Reading past reviews misleads you to think if you read this book you'll fill in answers very quickly. This book doesn't prepare you in that manner therefore taking the exam required intense thought and doing the process of elimination.
Rating: Summary: Marketing - Done Review: I followed the instructions in the book. Although I compressed the time to two weeks. I read the material, took test one. Reread the material, took test two then three. I did not know everything when I took the Clep, but scored a 69 and finished with 30 minutes to spare. This book is all I used to prepare for the test. One thing I did do that I think helped was to read all the answer pages. They explained the logic behind the questions.
Rating: Summary: Best Review book you can find for Marketing CLEP Review: I just finished taking my CLEP exam this morning an recieved a 65 when I needed a 50 to pass. The only study material I used was this book. I studied it for a week, and took all the practice exams and reviewed the anwswers with the explinations in the back. There where a few questions on internet marketing on the test, but most of it was common sense. One question on the test was this "How do marketing companies rate the success of banner ads on websites" and out of the five answers they provided one was the most obvious "click-throughput" the rest where just stupid responses like "the banners size and color". Using a text book for this CLEP is over kill, and it might hinder your success, because this book sticks to the facts and the must know material. I highly recommend this book for the Marketing CLEP, if you only study this book like I have you still have a easy chance at passing this exam. Good luck :)
Rating: Summary: Very easy to read and understand. Review: I passed the exam with plenty of points to spare and did not have to expend time in a class to get the 3 semester hours. The book suggests a longer study guidline than what I used, but I believe the results would have been the same.
Rating: Summary: Good, but you probably need other knowledge and common sense Review: I purchased this book a few weeks before the exam, took the practice tests, read over the review twice, and finally took the remaining tests which I found to be more difficult than the CLEP exam itself. I passed the CLEP with a 76. The book is helpful in passing the exam, but you will also need some common business sense. I also got some answers from other courses that I took such as Economics and Management.
Rating: Summary: A Must-Have study guide for CLEP Marketing exam. Review: I reviewed the content and practiced the exams. I found the questions to be right in line with the questions when I took the actual CLEP exam. I passed the exam with a very high score.
Rating: Summary: Quick and easy Review: I scored 100% after a one-time through reading of this book. It's quick and cheap - just perfect!
