Rating: Summary: This is the original and best-selling anatomy coloring book. Review: Because of the popularity of this book -- over a 21 year period its two editions have sold well over two and a half million copies in this country alone -- numerous imitators have come on the market. None have the unique coloring format that makes this book so effective and enjoyable. Also available from Amazon.com are my Physiology Coloring Book and Geography Coloring Book, both of which use this same format.
Rating: Summary: I'm not a rocket scientist... Review: But, I am an RN. I used this book in nursing school. Best book I had! I would repeat to myself what the item was that I was coloring. At exam time, I found myself able to remember things, that I know without this book, I never would have been able to do. With the help of this book I got an A. Buy it, you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: Don't buy markers for this book Review: Buy colored pencils and a good sharpener...some of the drawings and diagrams are TINY. Markers of any size are just too big.I just took my first exam and have to say that this book made me remember everything...learning by doing is now my favorite way to study, because many of us forget what we read by the time we turn the pages. This is a must-have for anyone out there studying anatomy, because you won't forget what you learn this way.
Rating: Summary: Best way to learn Review: I am a massage therapy student and this is the great way to learn all the insertions of each muscles. It even has general information about each muscle group. Coloring is not only fun, but this really does sink in. How else can you learn all the names?
Rating: Summary: Great study aid Review: I am a nursing student, and I use this book to help me prepare for my anatomy class. The drawings are very precise, and all of the important features are clearly marked. It really helps me to "lock" all those details that I read about, and saw on the models, into my head. And, the coloring's fun!
Rating: Summary: The best student study guide of the body Review: I am a very visual learner and this book helped me get through the anatomy classes in needed to graduate. If you need something other than staring at a school book get this one and make sure you get the biggest colorbox of pencils. ENJOY! dee
Rating: Summary: Great - Wonderful Learning Tool for Students Review: I am an undergrad Pre-Med student, and I found that working with this book was a valuable resource for helping me to learn the parts of the body that I need to know. This book is laid out very well, and in addition to the outlines of the structures, provides brief summaries of their functions. I don't really know why this book helps ingrain the anatomy in one's brain, but my whole class purchased this book and we have found it extraordinarily helpful!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: think this is a kid's book? think again Review: I am in college-level beginning anatomy and the instructor was quizzing the class on terminology. He gave the definition or pointed to a body part and we had to shout out the answer. I knew all of the terms while my classmates struggled. During break, my classmates asked how I knew/remembered this stuff. My answer? "The Anatomy Coloring Book." They blithely dismissed it as kid's stuff, a _coloring_ book. Well, that may be...but *I* know the material.
Rating: Summary: Great supplement for any anatomy course Review: I am using this book as a study tool for my Gross Anatomy course. Anyone who has taken an anatomy class can tell you that color-coding structures is one of the most helpful ways to remember them. There are drawings of bones, muscles, joints, organ systems and explanations of virtually everything that could possibly be covered in an anatomy class. The drawings are excellent and most of the features of the bones are labelled as well. This was very helpful to me since I had to memorize virtually every tubercle, ridge, groove, or other protuberance on every bone of the body. When I had trouble with the skull because the drawings in my class notes were horrible, the drawings in this book were much clearer and helped out a lot. If you are taking an anatomy class, this is a smart and relatively inexpensive investment that will help you remember everything better.
Rating: Summary: Useful to ANYONE with healthcare professions in mind Review: I bought this under the advice of nursing students before me. I love this book, it is highly informative and has helped me memorized the anatomy of the body. Though I'll probably not need to learn the whole book, the parts that I've used has helped. I bought the physiology counterpart as well. You may think $13.99 is steep for a coloring book, but with how many pages it has it is worth it. The book is not just a coloring book, it offers information on the body parts as well.
