Rating: Summary: This Book is a Must-Have for All Electronics Enthusiasts Review: If you've ever seen electronic device "kits", or perhaps you had a taste of it in high school and wondered about the prospects of taking Electronics up as a hobby, this is the book for you. In the book, author Randy Slone covers, in very readable style, the nuts and bolts of this fascinating applied science. From the basic required equipment to get you started, to the ins-and-outs of the inner workings of many of the common components, this book has it all. But what makes this book one of, if not the best book of its type I've come across, is the wealth of "useable" projects included within its pages.
Rating: Summary: Excellent mix of topics and well designed teaching method Review: My library of electronics books is huge, I have found myself having to buy many to get the information I need. I can only kick myself for not having bought Randy's book the minute it hit the shelves, as it would have saved me a lot of money and aggravation. Anyhoo, I have it now, and it is the book I use above all others. It is parked right next to my work bench. The topics struck me right away as the best mix that I have seen in any book. Randy actually writes in a way that you can sense he is trying to help you succeed in a career as well as teach you theory. He offers practical information about every aspect of electronics. Randy, I can't thank you enough for writing a book that allows any skill level reader to actual learn what they need.
Rating: Summary: You can't beat this for the money Review: This is one of the best books I've seen on any subject in a long time. The writing style of the author is both informative and pleasant. If you're interested in electrical engineering, or electronics then you can not go wrong with this book. Although this book is primarily focused on analog electronics, I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: An excellent introductory electronics book Review: Unfortunately I found this book only after having taking many electronics classes, but I still love it. I have enjoyed other books by Mr. Slone and if he were to write a more advanced electronics book, similar to this introductory book, I would buy it no questions asked.
