Summary: Auditing Information Systems
Review: This is a 'must have' book for anyone considering entering the Information Systems profession. It provides clear and concise information on the fundamentals of Information Systems Auditing.

It also provides a great source of reference information pertaining to professional standards as well as federal government rules and regulations affecting the industry on a global basis.

The last couple of chapters could also be useful to Information Systems Managers interested in developing and building either a strong internal audit department, or for external audit managers interested in building outstanding Information System Auditors and Business Advisory Consultants in this profession.

Even if you just have a passing interest in this field of auditing, this is still an excellent book to start with since the reading is easy and the subject matter is written in simple terms even though very serious and technical information are being discussed.

I enjoyed reading this book for all the above reasons and am looking forward to further updates or publications of this book or subject matter by the authors.

Summary: Great source of information for the IT Auditor
Review: I found the book to be very informative. A lot of time and effort was put into making sure readers at all levels can find the book useful. This was achieved by a detailed deliverance of a combination of theories and real world practical IT audit and security experiences. This came as no surprise as the authors have over 50 years of experience in this field amongst them. Future editions should however change the fonts to improve the readability of the book. A "must have" for everyone involved in IT Auditing.

Summary: review on Information Technology Control and Audit book
Review: This book is very valuable in understanding the concept of auditing, especially Information Systems Auditing. This book gives a very good explaination on what is happening in the IS auditing world, and also covers a very good information about how to prepare ourselves before entering the IS Auditing world. However, this book still needs to be updated due to typos and the development of IS auditing itself.

This book gives an overall coverage of what IT auditing is; It provides plenty of information on the role and importance of CIS Auditing in different IT areas. It also discusses the impact of the legal environment on the CIS Auditor. The authors also did not forget to provide a chapter dedicated for career planning. The chapters are arranged very well. Summary: Not for the faint of heart
Review: I used this book for my first exposure to IT auditing. I found it was so thick it was difficult to walk away with a solid concept most of the time. I am sure it would make a great deal of sense to a very technical person who understands the ins and outs of networking and firewalls and who is comfortable just opening a new application and picking it a part, but I am a method person. I either need examples to extrapolate from or a step by step to get a deeper understanding. I have a strong business background, so I was able to apply that to application concepts. I just don't think I have had enough implementation experience to make the most of some of the concepts.
