Rating: Summary: Thanks Steve for so much help Review: As a Real estate auctioneer this book was a great help and a guiding light. A very hummorus and enlighting book. Most of all a target to shoot for in my career. Thnaks a lot to a dreamer that has made them come true
Rating: Summary: Good provides a unique view of a dynamic industry Review: For the reader whose concept of a real estate transaction is the purchase of a home, Steven Good provides a glimpse into a whole new arena of passion, success and deal making. Sharing a universe of deals that are both unique and fascinating, Good demonstrates that the basic skills of good customer service and attention to detail always win the day. One of the most interesting themes of the book is that customer participation and satisfaction are prime ingrediants in any successful transaction. Good's style leaves the reader with a sense of having been there. A must read for those who appreciate both "insider" stories and great customer service.
Rating: Summary: An inside scoop Review: Great book. Great sense of humor. It was mysterious while both informative and exciting. It kept my interest until the end. Anyone who can auction a JAIL, and make a deal with Donald Trump, deserves a read!
Rating: Summary: If you want a sleeping aid, this is the book for you Review: I bought this book based on the rave reviews of other customers. Unfortunately, this book is quite possibly one of the dullest uninteresting books I have ever read, and believe me, I have read some bad books. The author of this book should be imprisoned for cheating us out of our money because this book is horrible. If you don't believe me, take your chances, but if you are smart, you will bypass this book. If you make the mistake of purchasing this, you will find yourself drifting onto other thoughts after reading only one line.
Rating: Summary: A Great Read! Review: I found Steve's book to be a fast-reading, entertaining and an inside-story informative accounting of the big time real estate profession. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Being On Top Of Your Game Is A True Success Story Review: I knew Steve Good prior to reading his book, but only on a very small level. Ever since the first day that we met each other, something from that first impression has stayed with me to this very day.
I had a chance to read his book,"Churches, Jails, and Gold Mines: Mega-Deals from a Real Estate Maverick," and I was fascinated by the way that Steve Good and his team at Sheldon Good and Co. are able to auction off real-estate so quickly and efficiently. The strategic planning that goes into each auction through Sheldon Good is absolutely phenomenal, and I was very impressed with how they set things up from start to finish.
The thing about Steve Good and the team that surrounds him, is that they always seem to be on top of their game. Ever since that first day, Steve has always been very warm and friendly, and ever-willing to give advice when needed. If you haven't had a chance to explore Sheldon Good and Co., or you haven't read Steve's book just yet, I highly recommend that you do. You, like myself, may not even know that these types of auctios ever existed, and may have a situation one day where you need immediate help from a real estate standpoint.
Thank you Sheldon Good and Company for all that you are doing out in the market place. Can't wait until the next book comes out!
Yours,
Michael Black

Rating: Summary: Honesty is the REAL DEAL Review: I recently read the customer reviews about Mr. Goods book. I was not surprised but amused by the two negative reviews. It is obvious to me that the authors expect some inside information or a miracle application to help them with their real estate ventures. I am 56 years old and a real estate broker of a very small firm. I purchased this book to read on a plane flight. I read the book and was struck by Mr. Good's continuing theme of honesty, integrity and hard work on behalf of his clients. A short time after reading his book I was confronted with a task that was far beyond my abilities regarding advice to a large real estate holding. I called Mr. Good's firm fully expecting the run-around. To my great surprise, I was treated as a valuable contact, given immediate attention and 1st class treatment by staff very close to Mr. Good. Later Mr. Good contacted me and shared what he thought his firm could accomplish for the people I knew I could not help. I later gave Mr. Good's firm a high recommendation to the folks in need of 1st class, top drawer, professional representation. I was comfortable with this decision based solely on how I was treated. Anytime a world class firm takes the time to help a small fish like my firm is very telling. They practice what they preach. Honesty!!!! is the real lesson of the book and a refreshing insight into what you can do with your real estate practice if you are commited to the same standards as the Steven Good Firm.
Rating: Summary: The Art of the Telling the Story of a Deal Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Good tells the story of each deal in such a way that you feel almost as if you are working on it yourself. The comfortable style of the prose is enjoyable and refreshing for the subject matter. I recommend for anyone interested in the art of storytelling, not to mention real estate.
Rating: Summary: actually less than one star Review: If you have nothing to do, do nothing. It's better than wasting time and money with this book.
Rating: Summary: Good Deals with Good Guys Review: In April 2004, I met Steven Good and heard him speak about his business and his book. One of his pithy thoughts, which I've repeated, is that "you can't do a good deal with a bad guy." In his book, he gives real examples of relationships and creative deals. As a patent attorney, I work with intellectual property more than real property and I find that Good's book is as valuable for good ideas as it is for facts about buildings and land.
