Rating: Summary: Dorland's Medical Speller rocks! Review: Dorland's Medical Speller is a must for every medical transcriptionist. Even though this book is in dire need of new publication because so much has been added in the last 9-10 years, it is in constant use in our hospital medical records dept. It has become so worn from use that we have had to punch holes in each page and place them in a 3-ring binder, BUT it keeps on keeping on !!

Rating: Summary: Top of the line reference book for medical transcriptionists Review: I have been a medical transcriptionist for going on five years and I have used this book more than any other reference book I have. It has more "word power" in a single volume than any other I have come across and is well worth the price!! I started working in a hospital as a transcriptionist and then branched out in other areas of medicine when I went to work for a national company and this book has been a very big help in that transition when doing unfamiliar work types. If you are in the medical transcription field, you will never outgrow this wonderful reference book!!
Rating: Summary: Sometimes you only need the spelling Review: It's easy to see why this book is a favorite among medical transcriptionists. I would also recommend Dorland's Medical Speller for writers---any kind of writer from fiction to technical---editors, reporters, and even advanced Scrabble players. When I'm uncertain about how to spell a medical term, it's convenient to zip to the word right away without lugging the big Dorland's down from the bookcase. And if you happen to be either a closet etiology or etymology sleuth, this small text can help you maintain a low profile.
Rating: Summary: Dorland's Medical Speller rocks! Review: This book was purchased for a hospital radiology department including transcriptionists with as little as one year and as many as 19 years' experience. We love it - it has come in handy many times since purchase!! We highly recommend it for use by transcriptionists in any genre.
Rating: Summary: The best "individual word spell" book on the market today! Review: This is the Bible of medical books. As a medical transcriptionist, I have all of the dictionaries you can imagine - but for only needing to know how to spell a word, this is the book to buy! It has ALL the words, from A-Z, right at your fingertips. I just simply LOVE this book! Even some of the more expensive books, for instance Stedman's Medical Encyclopedia, do not have all of the words. My specialty is Oncology/Hematology, but occasionally I will need to know how to spell a word dealing with dermatology or plastic surgery. Dorland's Medical Speller has it! I would recommend this book to every medical transcriptionist - no matter what their field!
