Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Stephen Desmond
Review: This is a classic. The author has written astoundingly clearly on this subject without a wasted word.

The main premise is that while networkers can benefit from working a flexible system they can also have fun in the process. The book encourages natural and real behaviour in order to cultivate healthy win-win relationships with other people.

The author explains the characteristics of confident networkers and how to acquire these skills. There are also tips on expanding and maintaining your database. Perhaps the strongest part of the book is the system for organising your network so that you can keep in touch with people.

All in all this book is a unique blueprint for building relationships. A must buy.

Summary: The New Business Bible
Review: This is an easy to read book that should not be read once, but a couple times a year. Her outlined tips don't get stale, so everytime you read the book you can get more from it. Andrea makes the ideas of networking fresh and easy. No matter how shy or outgoing you think you might be, she empowers you to take the next networking step.

Summary: The Power of Networking
Review: Usually an author takes 300 to 400 pages to make a couple of well-hidden points. You hope to find one or two Nuggets of Golden Knowledge. Be prepared for a big surprise.

Nonstop Networking is one of those rare books you read with a highlighter in hand. You will read and reread this book time and again, and still find new Nuggets of Golden Knowledge every time. Ms. Nierenberg presents her points in a very "reader friendly, conversational" style, and all in under 200 pages.

Who should read this?

1) Some people are very intimidated by the concept of networking, and yet know they need to develop this extraordinary skill. Ms. Nierenberg will begin at the beginning and take the novice step-by-step (or "baby steps" as she terms it) with a very basic style to build your comfort level.

2) Some people are trying to either grow their business or hold on to business in these tough times. Again, Ms. Nierenberg will not only help you lay out networking objectives, but also strategies and tactics to achieve your goals.

3) Some people are looking for work for the first time in their lives - new college graduates and seasoned old pros that have been downsized. She offers help for both scenarios.

On second thought, maybe you will need two highlighters.

Summary: Nonstop Networking by Andrea Nierenberg: Grow Your Biz!
Review: Whether you are in sales, or an independent professional who must market himself or herself, Andrea Nierenberg has written a classic book on how to effectively market yourself through the power of networking.

What this book does NOT teach is how to persuade others to give you referrals. This book shows you how to cultivate long-term relationships ... from which all the referrals you'll ever want will come from.

This book is an easy read with plenty of strategies you can implement immediately. Especially helpful is the chapter on "Networking For Introverts" -- which works wonders for those a bit too shy to mingle in networking situations.

A must have. I recommend you get it today before your competition does.

To your success,

Summary: Comprehensive networking guide
Review: Worried about what to say or how to behave in any situation? Nonstop Networking has it covered. While this book packs more information into 176 pages than most books do in 300, the information doesn't overwhelm as most of it is set forth in easy to follow steps. My favorite part of the book was the etiquette section with it's clear instructions on everything from how soon to follow up after meeting, when it's appropriate to talk business at a dinner, and even the proper use of speakerphones.

I see that other reviewers find that much of the information is common sense, and I do agree with that somewhat. However, I'm always amazed at how often common sense is not so common. I think everyone can benefit reminders. I'm giving this 5 stars as it is very comprehensive, approaches networking as building relationships (and not as "sales" as some of it's competitors), and as a result it's written in an approachable format.
