Review: As an elementary principal I have experienced the frustration of both parents and teachers who have tried to make wise choices about retention without a tool to guide the decision making. The Retention/Promotion Checklist provides such a tool. The checklist considers multiple factors that can impact the success of retaining or promoting a child. The checklist is clear and easy to use for parents and educators. We'll be using the book in my school to help make good decisions, particularly when there is a difference in opinion about whether or not to retain a child.
