Review: his biggest advice - a rooming house. For one good luck finding a house that has proper zoning for this. Politicians and neighborhoods hate these things. Not to mention the nightmare of the transient types you will attract. Also it's pretty dated as it still recommends buying RTC properties. The RTC died out years ago after the aftermath of the 80's real estate and S&L crash.

Review: I always wanted to go into real estate but I sat on my dream so long property prices shot up and I thought I'd never do it. As a result of reading Russ's book I bought 8 properties in 18 months. I'm in England so I still had a lot to learn as this book is for the USA Market, still the maths and the encouragement Russ gives helps you to think it through. Its like having a friend with you! Thanks again Russ. Wish you'd come over here!

Review: I am appalled and frustrated with the negativity surrounding Mr. Whitney's books and seminars. I have personally attended a Russ Whitney "boot camp" and invested in his mentoring program. I have profited over $100,000 in a very short period of time in a market that is a "sellers" not a "buyers" market. Sure his tactics at times may seem high pressured but I don't remember having a gun held to my head to buy anything. Let's assume for a minute that he is in this business to make money! I am a Customer Service Manager by profession and the Whitney Institute has the best Customer Service of ANY organization I have come in contact with. They respond to any question relating to Real Estate Investing very promptly. To all of you doubters and naysayers let me ask you this: Is your life and financial status any better? You people simply want something for nothing and definately do not want to work for it. This book provides the groundwork for getting a start in Real Estate Investing. I highly recommend it and any other programs by Mr. Whitney.

I recommend, however, serveral readings to absorb the material prior to putting these techniques into practice.

Review: I knew nothing about Russ Whitney before reading this book. I was just looking for some insights on real estate investing. Sorry to say, the book was filled with personal life stories and bogus strategies! I found myself skip reading by the third chapter just to look for the informative information (general at that) I was looking for! This book should of been an autobiography.

Summary: Great easy to understand book that breaks us "out of the box
Review: I read Mr. Whitney's book when it was first published, actually I read it a few times. I live in a sellers market, but after reading the book I bought my first home. Not an investment property, a home that I live in. Unlike some realtors and BROKErs think, I bought the house, in a sellers market, for NO MONEY DOWN! I had the house appraised 30 days after I bought it and I had $30,000 in equity. Not bad for my first deal. People need to start to think more positively and not so negatively. The techniques that Mr. Whitney teaches in this book work, if you have the backbone to try them. Thank you Mr. Whitney for all that you have done for my family and myself. : )

Summary: Definitely Worth Reading
Review: I'm growing weary or reading reviews written by people who have clearly never read the book they are reviewing, and worse, commenting on subjects not pertinent. Although I am not a book reviewer, I did ACTUALLY READ Building Wealth 4 years ago and credit it with my becoming a successful real estate investor. When I started out, I had about 200 dollars in my savings account (no checking account)and poor to outright horrible credit. Although it took me more than 18 months to make a million dollars, I eventually did. It wasn't easy, but it definitely is possible. Success depends on the person and their perserverance. If your expecting to simply read the book, or sit through a seminar and have a million dollars fall in your lap without working for it then you deserve what you get. Building Wealth will give you the tools. You have to use them.

Review: I've learned so much about real estate since I attended Russ' 3 Day Real Estate Academy last April. This book will help you overcome problems such as debt and credit. You'll learn strategies on how to buy properties anywhere. I'm a partner for a real estate company....and this book will help you buy properties in Michigan as well. The most important and interesting thing about this book is what Russ tells you is true. Russ' life is very exciting with how he got to real estate. I can't wait to meet him in Florida in the near future at Millionaire U. Thanks Russ for helping me create a group to invest with and new friends like Mark Gunn of Homeowners Concept in Sterling Heights, Michigan. This stuff was so exciting my cousin, Zhela S became a realtor in Michigan! Life is much more grand after reading and re-reading this great book of real estate investing.
