Summary: Save Your Money
Review: Based on the items I downloaded from this guy's website, this man's techniques are abysmally unimpressive. His "7 Strategies for Making a Fortune Online" is mostly a collection of internet marketing tips that can be garnered from freebie SEO websites and newsletters. Also, Allen cites defunct website as examples of his successful(?) marketing strategies:

www.recommend-it.com
www.letmeknow.com

Allen's "Zero to $1,000,000 on $49.95 a Month" instructs you to save/invest $49 a month for 36 years.

It looks as if Allen just wants people to buy into his so-called wealth-building seminars, books and CDs so that HE can continue to make money.

Why is it that so many of the professional reviewers touting this book appear to be rabid NeoCons?

Summary: Finished it today!
Review: I bought Nothing Down for the 2000's a couple of days ago and finished it today. WOW! So many great ideas! This book rocks!

I used to be a real estate agent, felt knowledgeable about real estate but still found new ideas and information that I never knew before.

WARNING: Most real estate agents and brokers will tell you that these techniques won't work. Prior to reading Nothing Down for the 2000's, I would have said the same thing. But having read the book and made some calls, I know it works.

Robert Allen also writes in an easy to read and fun style. read this book and launch yourself into financial self reliance.

Summary: Works even in depressed areas!
Review: I live in what is undoubtably one of the most economically depressed areas in the USA. Mostly a blue collar, older demogrphic area with moderately high unemployment. No new industries have come i n to this area. Our claim to fame was in the 50's when Coal was king. When coal died so did our economy. So I wasn't sure if this work in my part of the country.

I read Nothing Down for the 2000's in about three nights and went to work. I followed Mr. Allen's advice and read the papers, went to the courthouse, called bankruptcy attorneys and interviewed several realtors.

To wit, I found a really great property in a nice area near schools, churchs and shopping. As per Mr. Allen, I bought the cheapest property in the nicest neighborhood. I didn't buy the first property that I saw and I followed allof the escape strategies "weasel clauses" and so on that Allen recommends.

I amazed myself that buying real estate is this easy and even in my area. As Robert Allen says; "They ain't making anymore land and real estate is NOT a FAD. Everybody has to live somewhere."

I highly recommend this book. And contrary to the review that preceded mine, this is not the same as Allen's other books like Multiple Streams of Income which I also just bought. That book has one chapter on real estate and additional chapters on tax liens and discounted mortgages. I haven't finished it yet, but it doesn't even come close to covering real estate like Nothing Down for the 2000's does.

I can only assume that the reviewer who posted below me didn't buy or read either book or they would have known that as well.

Multiple Streams is a great book and I recommend it. It goes into other ways of making money. I am also looking at Multiple Streams of Internet Income.

Read Nothing Down for the 2000's only if you are really serious about making money in real estate and disregard these paid bashers with an agenda that does not include telling you the truth or helping you at all.

Summary: Ooutstanding! The best R.E. Book available
Review: If you are looking to invest in real estate then this is the book for you. Robert Allen is the best in teaching R.E. strategies.

I too bought this book along with Unfit For Command at my favorite book store primarily because both books were on the same rack right next to each other in the new hardback arrivals section. I don't understand that reviewer making a big deal out of some people reviewing both books. I can only assume that that reviewer does not buy books and hasn't been in a bookstore for awhile.

After seeing one of Robert Allens infomercials I decided to attend one of his free lectures that was being presented in my area. After attending the seminar, I went to the bookstore and bought Nothing Down for the 2000's along with the other book.

Robert Allen is very inspiring. He is truly a rags to riches back to rags and back to riches again story. He is a man of quality much like our President trying to empower people and unlike Pres. Bush's opponent. Perhaps that is why Nothing Down for the 2000's was positioned so close to Unfit For Command. I recommend both for all Americans.

Great books. Highly recommended.

Summary: Shows the trap doors to avoid
Review: My big concern with real estate was what most other books don't tell you, how to avoid the trap doors that can send you into bankruptcy.

Lucklily, this book was written by a man who actually is a real estate investor and speaks from real world experience. Robert Allen shows you the trap doors to avoid so you can achieve financial freedom with real estate as the vehicle.

Well written book. Highly recommended.

Summary: Realistic approach with great exit strategies
Review: Nothing Down is a fantastic book on how to investprofitably in real estate. Easy to see why Nothing Down has sold millions of copies and was on the NY Times best seller lists for 46 weeks.

What I like about Allen's book is that it is not a get rich quick book. Allen offers a realistic approach to invest successfully in real estate and without the buy and hold mentality (Nickerson method) although appreciation is still one of the biggest profits in real estate. Robert Allen explains that a house bought in 1980 for $62,000 is now worth over $155,000.

You would think that everybody would be in real estate. Why not?

Allen uses a gross equity chart to show how much you can make in real estate. He also uses a net equity chart to show how much real estate you have to buy now to reach a certain goal, say $1 million net worth by a certain time. I was surprised that it didn't take as much or as long as I thought.

Allen also cautions against going wild buying too many properties or buying the wrong properties. If real estate is so great, why not just buy everything you can with nothing down right? Wrong.

Allen explains that no matter how careful you are, their will be vacancies and some things will go wrong. For example the recent hurricanes in Florida. Allen offers strategies to prepare for those events and to prevent you from going hogwild in b uying too many properties too soon. You could easily become real estate rich but cash poor. You could have a net worth of a million dollars with not enough money to buy lunch.

Allen also devotes a whole chapter on what to do when you become the don't wanter. If the truth be known, if all you had to do was load up on real estate and you become a millionaire, then surely everyone would be doing it and becoming rich.

Allen also teaches how to buy low and sell high and how to buy high and sell higher. He ven offers strategies on how to buy and sell at the same price and still make money.

Some people are confusing this book with the original Nothing Down which was excellent for the times. Nothing Down for the 2000's is updated for the new millenium with new strategies for the times.

If you are contemplating investing in real estate, then you can't go wrong by buying and applying the techniqes in this book by Robert Allen.

And disregard reviews by people who obviously have not even read the book. If you are like me, take some time to review it in Joe Muggs Cafe (Books-A-Million) or Barnes & Noble or Borders before you buy it.

Summary: Powerful and Pragmatic
Review: There are so many books on real estate investing. This one by Robert Allen is the most complete that I have seen.

It was great seeing Allen going beyond the basic setting goals that everybody has read a million times. Allen teaches us how to find our purpose and create compelling goals. How to create a vision. I have to admit it all sounded like a pseudo science untill I sat down and tried it.

Allen explains that you can buy real estate with Nothing Down and no credit. But he also shows how to build credit and break the stigma of bad credit.

In the foreward, Allen tells us how he almost died in a car crash near San Diego in 2003. He goes on to say this made him realize just how short life really is and goes on to explain why it is imperative to begin your real estate investing plan as soon as possible

Allen then teaches the mathematics of real estate and explains the various profit centers from real estate. I have to admit that I didn't realize how diverse real estate is.

Then Allen goes into his Nothing Down techniques like the second mortgage crank and more. I always wondered how you could buy real estate with nothing down. I just never realized that it didn't mean no money was used, it just didn't have to be my money. That got me excited!

Allen then goes into a 5 year retirement plan and a creative self employment plan. Allen hits the nail on the head when he talks about 45 minute commutes to work and so on and then asks "Aren't you sick of it?" I have to admit that I am.

Nothing Down is a great real estate investment book, in fact, the best that I have seen. I am now using these techniques to create my own real estate portfolio and enter the world of self employment via real estate investing. No better time than right now.

Summary: Save Your Money
Review: This book reminds me so much of the first book I read by Robert Allen, Nothing down for the 90's. Some cutting and pasting, a few new words of wisdom and there you have it. Easier money than flipping a property!

I caught site of the last couple of reviews - do not waste your money. If you have one of this authors books you have them all.

I also took a look at multiple streams of internet income - looks like the same trick.

This author is so prolific it is a miracle he has time to make a property deal. If I weren't so trusting I'd think he made all his money in the book business.

Great book for people who love get rich quick fiction!

Reviewers who liked this book also rate highly:

Unfit to Command: Swift Boat Vets Trash Kerry

Some liked it so much they reviewed it more than once!!!!!!!!!

They follow the vote now vote often school - guess they applied the same integrity to reviewing this book !!!!!!! Unless they are paid .....

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Love the CD's--Outstanding
Review: Typically, cd's are abridged versions of the book and offer precious little compared to the book itself. In general, abridged c's act like a informercial to buy the book. Not so. I bought the cd's and listened to them recently on a cross country trip. Listened over and over and again. The material was at least 95% or more of what is in the book and there is some information not in the book.

If you were to buy just one book on real estate investing, make it this one.

Allen covers it all

* Why residential properties are better than commercial property

* Why investing in land is a big mistake

* How to prevent negative cash flow

* How to buy right

* When to sell

* Buy high, sell higher

* A realistic 5 year retirement plan

and much more.

Disregard the 1 and 3 star bashers of this book who are paid to artificially manipulate ratings for books like this and Unfit For Command. And beware of people who don't understand that Nothing Down for the 2000's and Unfit For Command are both currently best sellers despite attempts here at Amazon to jimmy the rankings for both. And beware of people who are so polarized so as to be focused only on one subject titles. I think the fact that Robert Allen readers are diversified and read a variety of books only speaks for the high calibre of readers that Mr. Allen attracts.

By the way, I highly recommend Unfit For Command which I bought along with Nothing Down for the 2000's, some other tape programs, books and other things. Unfit For Command does in fact coincide with one of the principles that Allen teaches, about integrity and win-win. Obviously something that the subject of Unfit For Command knows nothing about.

Summary: Still a best seller for over 24 years!
Review: While it's tur that Nothing Down first came out back in 1980, this version Nothing Down for the 2000's is updated and revised for the new millenium.

Some of the strategies are similiar and many have changed. Allen has also deleted some of the strategies that are no longer applicable for the times.

I really have to laugh when I see reviews like the one that says this is the same book as the other Nothing Down books but even goes on to say that this is the same as Allens other books. If that isn't a clue that that reviewer hasn't read this or any of the other Allen books, then I don't know what is.

I do beleive that this reviewer may have a copy of Allen's older version of Nothing Down and did a quick check on the internet, wrote a review without even browsing the book at a local bookstore. let alone buying it.

In another regard, the fact that Nothing Down has been selling for 24 years does say something about the quality of the book. And Allen's book is certaintly better than the other rip off versions on buying real estate that came out after this book.

Allen is the real deal. Aside from being a prolific author, he is also a successful investor and businessman. Allen walks his talk and talks his walk.
