Rating: Summary: Technical Analysis Simplified worth every penny Review: I found Technical Analysis Simplified to be an apt description of what Droke explains in this book-an extremely simple, easy to read way to forecast from stock market charts. This book is great in that it can be read in one or two sittings and is a helpful reference manual for looking up chart patterns that occur over and over in the market. Droke does in a little over 100 pages what Edward & Magee took over 500 pages to do. The reader who trashed this book apparently doesn't know how to read, because the introduction to Droke's book is less than six pages long. Murphy's book is also good, but is too long and much more complex. (BTW, this book is NOT out of print, as the reviewer below claimed because I got it in a couple of days from Amazon).
Rating: Summary: The book was very helpful. Review: I have only recently become interested in financial markets and happened to come across this book. Being a novice in this field, I found it extremely helpful. The introductory history was quite interesting. The explanation of the different patterns was very beneficial. I now feel more confident in my ability to analyze and forecast price trends, thereby enabling me to make the proper choices.Â

Rating: Summary: Technical analysis reliable for making stock market profits Review: Many, many books have been written on the subject of technical analysis of the stock market. Most of them are cumbersome, prolix, complicated and expensive. My endeavor in writing Technical Analysis Simplified was not to add yet another volume to an already over-crowded field. Rather, my principle aim was to be the first to write a concise, easily understood manual for learning and implementing this fascinating (and crucial) discipline for consistently profiting from the markets. Technical analysis affords the trader or investor an invaluable tool for consistenly making profits from a volatile and seemingly unpredictable marketplace. In fact, without an understanding of at least the rudiments of technical analysis, no one can hope to consistently make money from his or her trading or investing. If you could only buy one book on the subject, this would be the one to get because it combines all that is necessary to understanding technical analysis--culled from years of my own experience and dozens of books on the subject--in a simple manner that is both easy to read and remember. It distills all the most essential elements in one thin volume. And it is easiliy affordable and one of the least expensive books you will ever find on the subject. In short, I personally guarantee you will not regret having read this book if you want to make technical analysis work for you
Rating: Summary: Better Title Would Be: Technical Analysis Unsimplified Review: There is a reason this book is out of print. Just getting through the first chapter was painful. The book reads like a high school term paper. I couldn't bring myself to read anymore. I ended up taking it back and getting a refund. The most useful part of this book was the suggested reading in the back, which I used to purchase "Technical Analysis of Financial Markets" by John J. Murphy instead. All I can say is this one is a keeper. It's easy to read and eventhough it was twice as much, it is well worth it.
