Summary: Let me add this:
Review: I took this book to assist me with an economic research project that I was conducting in Ecuador on Dollarization. My command of the Spanish language is pretty good, but I have difficultly translating certain advanced economic terms in Spanish. I found that this book did little to assist me in that endevour. Many of the words that I found in this dictionary were definitions that could be easily translated with a regular dictionary such as "indicador de mercado" --> "market indicator". For someone who has no knowledge of Spanish, this translation would be useful if they were trying to read a finance section of a Spanish newspaper. But for someone with a reasonable command of the language, this translation can easily be constructed using a regular dictionary. I found that when I encountered words that were more difficult to translate into English such as "cartera vencida", the word was absent. A translation from a regular dictionary over this term would yield "defeated portfolio" which can be guessed intuitively but doesn't make a lot of sense and thus could be translated better. Other words which were also absent and had no concievable translation in English were Desagio, Captacion, Desencaje among a few others. To give the book some credit, it did translate dacion, reporto, sobregiro, and estocastico, which I could not find in the regular dictionary. But overall, I thought this book was lacking in its ability to define several economic terms that I was expecting it to contain. In a future edition, I would recommend that the author investigate economic papers written in Spanish to seek out some of the more difficult terms that lie in the Spanish economic vocabulary.

Summary: Precise Translations for hundreds, thousands of terms
Review: Last summer (1999) I was preparing to study abroad in Mexico. I bought this book and started reading it at the beginning of the summer.

During one of my jobs I rode along with a transportation specialist. I read the whole book in a few weeks time. This book has very precise translations for almost every business term or compound business term needed. Its all there contracts, legal, marketing, accounting, logistics, etc.

Later I studied marketing in Monterrey Mexico and was later offered a job as general manager of an import/export operation in Monterrey Mexico where I rely on it heavily.

I have done many translations on the job and this book almost always has the word I am looking to find.

Summary: This is not a review. It is a message to Amazon.com.
Review: The "review" for this title dated March 2, 1999 is in clear violation of your own Review Guidelines. This review is completely inacurrate and unsubstantiated, and posting it only serves to mislead the people who read it. This book is unparalleled in its field and does not deserve to be smeared by such comments.

Summary: Excellent!
Review: This book is full of words I couldn't find anywhere else. Helps me tremendously with accounting terms. I'd be lost with out it.

Summary: Maximum usability!
Review: This dictionary makes translations and other inter-conversions between English and Spanish easy and secure. The headwords are very plain to see, which is not always the case with such dictionaries, and each phrase has its own entry, so that you can find the exact equivalent phrase used in the other language quickly. After buying this book I went ahead and verified many terms that I am already familiar with, and was happy to see them all there, each with the proper equivalents for each business-related area, such as finance, banking, foreign investment, real estate, contracts, taxes, and so on and so on. The book earns its five stars each time I use it, and it has not disappointed me yet.

Summary: Extraordinary!
Review: This is the dictionary I have been searching for. It features very concise and professional phrase for phrase translations. It is a must have for bilinguals (Spanish-English)in the business world.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Terrible Reference
Review: This is the worst spanish-English business reference that I have ever encountered. It lacks depth and scope for most financial and legal terms used in business
