Summary: Good Reference Book
Review: Review of Curriculum Improvement Decision Making and Process Ninth Edition by Ronald C. Doll

This is a good reference book for definitions and practical applications of curriculum terminology. It has been updated to encompass new presidential guidelines for the improvement and implementation of ideas and goals for this era.

Summary: Excellent Resource
Review: Ronald Doll's Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process is an excellent resource for information regarding curriculum development. I found that what it may have lacked in the way of immediate application, it more than made up for in the philosophical foundations of curricular planning. This has proven to be a great resource for my current position as an administrator. It is a must read for anyone planning to work on curriculum development.

Summary: Systematic Approach to Curriculum Improvement
Review: An excellent handbook for anyone involved in curriculum planning. All bases are covered. Doll left no stones unturned when it came to designing a curriculum and improving the curriculum. I like how Doll considered societal problems when dealing with the curriculum and how when designing the curriculum one must consider outside elements as well. Well thought out textbook for anyone in any given circumstances.

Summary: Curriculum Iprovement: Decision Making and Process
Review: The text used in this course I found to be VERY beneficial. In most cases we all deliberate over whether or not we can navigate through a course wither with 1 or all the books that have been requested. Doll's text chapters I found to be EXTREMELY LONG. I feel this is okay for more indepth research but for comprehension it's just too much to absorb.

Summary: Great Resource
Review: This book was very beneficial in my course work through Nova. It contained a lot of material that will give you plenty to write about. It is very detailed and will help if you read it!

Summary: Curriculum Improvement
Review: I found Curriculum Improvement to be a valuable resource
for my current position as a literacy coach because it
gave valuable information about things like how to get
teachers to accept change when you are in a leadership
position. It stressed current beliefs about what's best
for students such as the importance of authentic
learning and addressing the learning styles. Although I
thought the book was full of useful material, the length
and format of the chapters were weaknesses for me. Too
much material in sections proved to be overwhelming at
times.
