Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement Review: The book Curriculum Improvement Decision Making & Process gave a wonderful insight into planning a curriculum unit. The history of curriculum was discussed and its progression throughout the years. I also liked the idea that a wealth of information was covered that is very relevant in designing a curriculum for today's students. As a classroom teacher it helped to understanding that planning a curriculum unit must be very comprehensive.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement Review: I discovered many new aspects of the curriculum that I had not considered in my current career as a middle school teacher. The book is filled with page after page of ideas that would be extremely helpful for a new administrator, especially one who will play a part in determining curriculum for his/her school. The text not only describes the definition of curriculum and its related aspects, but gives a history of curriculum, and sites many examples to demonstrate meaning. Its division into two separate parts is also helpful to keep ideas separated into the designing and decision-making phases, and the planning and actual processes involved in changing or creating a new curriculum.
Rating: Summary: Informative Review: The textbook, Curriculum Improvement 9th Ed., is very informative and easy to read and understand. The examples used in the book reinforced the text. It is written in layman's terms, so it is easy to understand and follow.
Rating: Summary: curriculum improvement review Review: The Robert C. Doll text is an easy to read and very comprehensive text on the subject of curriculum improvement.Ranging in scope from the philosophical/psychological underpinnings of curriculum improvement to the practical. An excellent resource for education professionals.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process Review: I found this book to be well written and very informative. It is a good book for someone who is interested in curriculum improvement.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process (9th Edi Review: This book is detailed oriented in providing information regarding the past, present, and current curriculum issues facing public schools. It is recommended to those entering the realms of curriculum development.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process by Doll Review: This text is a good resource for designing or improving the school curriculum. However, I found that the information in the chapters could have possibly been condensed to form a shorter textbook. The price is also too expensive.
Rating: Summary: Great Read! Review: Doll- I thought the Doll book was very imformative. It was pretty easy reading, unlike some other textbooks I have had. As a special education teacher, I would have liked to see a bit more information on curriculum for speacial education classes. As a special education teacher, it is not always easy to adapt text for the regular classroom to fit our needs.
Rating: Summary: Review of Doll Text Review: The Doll Text was full of information. At times I found the writing to be dry, but the information was very useful and tied in with the other information we have covered in all our classes so far. A large amount of 'hands-on' examples helped to clarify points and increase understanding of concepts and developments in curriculum.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process (9th Edi Review: The book was very well written. It was well organized. I recommend this book to teachers and administrators who want to improve curriculum.
