Rating: Summary: Good reference book... Review: The Doll textbook was helpful in the historical aspects of curriculum. I feel that it would be a helpful reference to see where curriculum has come from. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would give it a 6.
Rating: Summary: Beneficial Information Review: I found this book to provide the detailed information that I needed at this point in my career. It provided a positive outlook on ideas and theories and gave excellent situations to learn from. Although it wasn't colorful or reader friendly, it did give details on key issues concerning curriculum with helpful definitions and great quotes.
Rating: Summary: Bradley Collins Review: The Doll text has a lot of information on curriculum planning with some drawbacks. The text a times is very wordy which requires the reader to reread sections for understanding. I feel some sections could have given more information for easier understanding for the reader.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Planning Review: This was a useful guide to planning and improving curriculum. The book was somewhat wordy, but the subject area is very in-depth. I recommend this book for anyone interested in developing or improving curriculum.
Rating: Summary: yea buddy! Review: I found this book to be a useful guide in understanding the creation of curriculum, the factors that impact curriculum and obviously the improvement process. The information contained in this book gives a solid base of information on which to grow. The book is, at times (often), difficult to read. It can seem long and read boringly. Realizing that this topic is not likely to be chosen by Tom Clancy for his next book; the information could have been presented in a more reader friendly fashion.
Rating: Summary: Good for information Review: I used this book in my online graduate course in curriculum and instruction. I felt this book had a lot of vital information pertaining to curriculum design and was helpful in some aspects, but I it was a little wordy.
Rating: Summary: Review Review: I found this book to be somewhat helpful. It did provide good examples of how to design a curriculum but was sometimes too wordy. I would not use this book exclusively but it was a good guide.
Rating: Summary: Satisfactory Review: As far as textbooks are concerned, this one is satisfactory. It presents the information accurately; however, it is at times wordy and dull. I purchased this book to use in an online college class. I did not use it very much. I found the online sites to be of more use.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement Review: I found the book to be very insightful and easy to follow. It was a tremendous help during my graduate course on curriculum improvement.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement? Review: I did not find Doll's book on Curriculum Improvement to be very helpful. It did provide some insight to the steps we should follow when developing a curriculum and provided some examples of the way some school districts align their curriculum.
