Summary: A theoretical perspective to curriculum design
Review: Doll's historical approach to designing curriculum was simple yet comprehensive. The historical persecpective allowed the reader or student to see the facet of curriculum as evolved over the decades to meet National educational goals. The explicit manner in which Doll presented the strategies for creating curriculum designs made a complicated task become an uncomplicated routine for educators to follow in an attempt to improve any school curriculum. Student teachers and professionals should keep this text as a handbook

Review: THE BOOK WAS OKAY. IT DIDN'T KEEP ME INTERESTED IN CURRICULUM. I DID, HOWEVER, LIKE THE SUMMARIES AT THE END OF EACH CHAPTER. SOMETIMES READING THE SUMMARY TELLS IF THE CHAPTER IS INTERESTING. I ALSO LIKED THE STUDY QUESTIONS. I KNOW THAT IF I WAS ABLE TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS, I HAD A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE CHAPTER.

Review: I thought that the text was very helpful. It gave me insight into the importance curriculum development. I especially thought the section on creating objectives was very critical. I realize more than ever that to be clear on one's goals is to help indure success.

Summary: A Learning Experience
Review: The text was a great resource during this term. I have learned countless things from the use of this resource. I am even planning to do some restructuring of my class over the summer and based on what I have learned and read from the text.As an English major with no education courses, the reasoning and logic behind curriculum development was not always clear. Doll's test helped me to understand the necessity of it. The Doll text was a little difficult to follow and took a lot more time to read because it was almost too detailed, although it was very informative. I have highlighted information I plan to go back to so that I can fully digest it. I have learned many valuable things that I plan to use to take my students to another level. Corie Thomas

Review: Doll's book was very informative. It gave useful information on background and real life examples. The reading included information on changes in social beliefs and how it impacts the curriculum in the school setting. This is important in our continuously changing environment. The book was very comprehensive. It was so detailed that at times it was hard to process and retain all information in one reading.
