Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process Review: Overall the text provided good insight to the curriculum design process. The chapters tended to be a bit lengthy.
Rating: Summary: This book fits the bill. Review: This text provided a thoughtful look at the rather broad subject of curricular development. Doll addressed today's most pressing curricular issues in adequate detail. The case studies found in each chapter allow the reader to process the content in a more meaningful manner. The text was well organized. Overall, this text represents an appropriate text for a graduate level curriculum course or as a general resource regarding curriculum development. My only complaint was the use of endnotes in the place of American Psychological Association style in-text citation.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement Review: In reviewing Doll's Curriculum Improvement, I felt the text had many interesting fact as read in chapter one dealing with history. I did think the text's chapters were too long and too much information to process. I felt as if I needed to take notes on each chapter to remember all the details. Doll's text is well organized but kind of dry with the presentation of information. Some chapters, I found myself counting pages until the end.
Rating: Summary: great info. Review: Curriculum planning by Doll gives an indepth account of how to plan an effective curriculum, as well as how to implement it. This book is useful for teachers, administrators and the like. Vivian B. Rodriguez
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Writing Made Easy Review: The text Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process by Ronald C. Doll is an excellent resource. It provides easy to follow steps for developing a curriculum. It also provides innovative ideas for improving your school's curriculum. One drawback is that the chapters are a bit lengthy.
Rating: Summary: Curriculum Improvement Review Review: This book was very valuable to me in getting through a course on Curriculum. The book to me was very easy to understand. Some books are very hard to read and lack the relationship between the reader and the textbook but not the case with Ronald C. Doll edition. The one thing that I didn't like about the textbook was that some of the chapters were extremely long to read. Words used throughout the text are easy to relate and comprehend which is another plus for the book.

It focuses on all aspects of curriculum design such as: (a) curriculum design process, (b) curriculum resources, (c) social and cultural issues, (d) school operations etc... The curriculum process is presented in a clear and concise manner. "Curriculum Improvement" is a great guide for education leaders. It provides information useful in curriculum decision-making process. If used appropriately, this book will contribute to the creation and implementation of a successful curriculum. It is a book to be recommended to all administrators and administrators to be. It will help them to understand the impact that a strong and well-structured curriculum can have on school improvement.
Rating: Summary: Evaluation of Curriculum Imporvement Review: Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process by Doll, gave information about the history of curriculum, as well as planning and implementing curriculums. This book was very informative. Itis a great resource for administrators or anyone who is responsible for curriulum planning.
Rating: Summary: Textbook Critique Review: This book, Curriculum Improvement: Decision Making and Process, by Ronald C. Doll (1996) was not very interesting for me, and did not do much to keep my attention. It was a struggle for me to get through each chapter, and as a result, I have no interest in the curriculum development process. The book did have very interesting questions and activities at the end of each chapter, which I found were suitable for those persons going into the administrative part of education.
Rating: Summary: Book Review-CUR 504 Review: This textbook was used in my curriculum class for educators in a graduate program. This book will continue to serve as an important resource for me as an educator. As a result of this book, I have a greater understanding of how curriculum can be implemented in the field of education.
