Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Standard Analysis Text; Necessary, but not Sufficient! Review: Very useful textbook, easy to follow.
A little over-simplified though.
Doesnot leave a lot of gaps, but then that doesnot leave a lot of room for imagination either.
At times it gets toooo wordy, if you know what I mean. Less ideas and more talk.
A stark contrast to Rudin, but can be very useful if both are used together. However, if you need to choose between those two, go with Rudin.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Readable, very well written Review: With basic knowledge of point set theory, a mathematically-oriented physics student can use this book for self-study. I used it as advanced grad student to learn measure theory and Lesbesgue integration. I certainly remained a beginner (surely could not have passed a typical math exam in analysis) but was nevertheless able to apply the basic ideas of meassure theory some decades later to resolve a subtle question about fractals.
