Summary: get a real handbook
Review: Don't waste your money on this book. It covers the topics much too lightly to be useful for anything besides assignments. Get something like the Machinery's Handbook instead.

Summary: Excellent working reference with outstanding sample problems
Review: The first edition was a required college text, but I kept using it so much the cover wore out! The chapters are well laid out, and the sample problems really bring the main concepts into the real world. Every colleague to whom I have shown this book has been impressed.

3.Containing very useful informations about machine design My comments 1. The type of copies in the acrobat files are not so clear, a little blard.
2. Working button shall be added in the table of contentents in the acrobat files to access the topics you wanted easily since this file contains more than a hundred pages.
3. All equations should be given a derivation; if it belongs to other references, please type the references below the equation

Review: This book explains in detail how a good design should be carried
out, is easy to read and to use. It really makes engineers happy they chose to be what we are!

Summary: handy reference- especially for new grads!
Review: This book was required for my first course in mechanical design and I've kept is as a desk reference at work. The book is well organized and practical. The techniques outlined in the later chapters apply good design techniques and provide usable information for machine component designers. I recommend this book to anyone requiring a mechanical reference.
