Rating: Summary: Don't kid yourself Review: This book is awful. The entire book, or at least the significant portions, could be published on one side of a cocktail napkin. Pitino wrote this book to make fat stacks. If you want real motivation and inspiration, look any place else and avoid this two hundred page ego stroke.
Rating: Summary: A little bit of something for everyone; excellent! Review: Well, I think I have heard about every Zig Ziglar tape, along with Mind Power, Power Listening, and a few others. I highly recommend this CD audio, by the way, I've never been into sports. I listened to this three cd set twice so far, and am attempting to put the words/what I got out of it into action. So far, myself and others are noticing a change for the better in me; enough said? hehe, it's worth it, add this one to your shopping cart!
Rating: Summary: Inspiring Review: A great inspirational book on competing and how to keep winning in life. After reading it, you'll want to raise your own achievments to a higher level, whatever the field.
Rating: Summary: He's got some good thoughts.... Review: I've heard the man speak, and he's got style.... It clearly comes through in his book, as well.... The ONLY flaw in the book, I feel (hence the 4-star rating), is the collection of testimonial letters that follow each chapter... Not only are they unnecessary, they dilute the message Pitino is trying to deliver by making him seem in desperate need of a good ego massage.... I'm scratching my head wondering whose idea it was to put them in (was there some friendly arm twisting going on, perhaps?).... And why??..... The book itself, though, was a good effort and does make an enjoyable read....
Rating: Summary: A must read for anyone who is a winner and has lost his edge Review: This is a great book written by an equally great coach. Rick Pitino's thoughts and ideas on motivating yourself and others is exceptional. (I'm just sorry to see that so many people are just getting around to reading it since the book has been out for a couple of years now). You can see the coach in him come out and by being a follower of him you can see how he has taken the adversity in his life and overcome it using mind over matter and self-determination as the key. This is an extraordinary book and it should be on everyone's bookself.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read for any teen with dreams and goals Review: I am a Drum Major of my High School band and I read the book in two days. The information he spoke about on communication and self esteem has helped me to work on my communication skills with my band and helped me to understand my motivations and the things that I need to change...Superb, easy to relate to. AMAZING!!!!
Rating: Summary: One of the best I've read in a while. Review: A good book. Very easy to read, but full of real meat. You can put it down and come back to it later and get right back into it. I found myself taking notes to refer to later. Really terrific.
