Review: Ohrn is one of today's most respectable ab initio quantum chemists. In his newest book he precisely directs the reader from the rigorous mathematics of groups and group algebras to the application of simplifying problems in quantum chemistry. This book contains much more mathematics than any other book on this subject and is a must for anyone who cares to know the nuts and bolts of group theory as applied to chemistry. I highly recommend Yngve's book and know that most practitioners of quantum chemistry will benefit much more from this text than from any other watered-down and inadequate text on the subject such as that written by Cotton.
