Summary: Don,t judge a book by its cover
Review: This book has a much broader range of appeal to the comman person than the title indicates. Everyone is affected by the privacy issues discussed in the book. The terms "hide" and "disappear" should'nt scare anyone off. Mr.Pankau lays out invaluable information in the context of someone "vanishing without a trace", but most of it relates directly to all of us. After reading his book I'm much more aware of the value of my privacy, and the steps to take to protect it in the future. The section on "the best places disappear to" is valuable to anyone thinking of retiring in a foreign country, regardless of "criminal" issues. Numerous countries and areas are rated for livability followed by recommendations and warnings.Mr Pankau's credentials are solid. He is highly respected internationally as an author(two bestsellers), speaker and most impressively, one of the top private investigators in the country. This is a man who has built a solid business and reputation. I trust the advice in this book because I have considered the source. Enough said.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Offshore asset information is fascinating!
Review: This book is easy an easy read, and very fascinating. I was a little disappointed about the specifics in "disappearing", but Pankau gives you a good overview. I rated it a 3 because of the lack of detail, but I would rate it a 5 for info on offshore investments and the ins and outs of money transactions. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to make some "offshore investments".

Summary: A meaningless book, full of commonalities;
Review: This book should be written by a pro for top executives and people in special situations. Having read it and having lived extensively in Central and Latin Americ I compare this work more to a lonely planet for asilum seeking executives rather than a professional guide to a catartic process.

And then the whole issue about leaving abroad. What the hell is Honduras Air? (trust me such a thing never existed and never will). Tax avoidance is a serios business. Those who are really contemplating an escaped know exactly how to minimize their taxes or disappear. They need quick tips not generalities.

The tone of the book is entertaining, again it does not have to be taken seriously

Summary: Save your money!
Review: This is a goofy book. Rediculous also comes to mind. If your idea of escaping your misdeeds or ex-loved ones is opening a pawn shop in some sweaty third world nation and cohabitating with a barely minimum aged "bambinette"then this book is for you. Otherwise save your $20. The onlyadvise worth anything is that New Zealand is a wonderful place to live, don't tell anyone your plans, and tear up your credit cards. My advise to would-be fleeing perps is "face the music" here or live in misery somewhere else! The vapid descriptions the author paints of life on the lam would have me jumping out a window. The most important issue the author doesn't address is how to escape yourself. Reading about some of these people and their "large liquor bills" made me cringe. NOT THE LIFE FOR ME!Very boring.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent guide for he beginner P T
Review: This is an excellent book for someone contemplating extended travels. The author obviously has personal as well as first hand knowledge with the subject matter. I suggest this book for anyone who dreams of a less stressful life living abroad.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Witty and thought provoking.............
Review: This is not a how to book. I'm not sure there is enough time or paper to write a concise how to book on this subject. Just from my read I thought it far more complicated to sever all ties and disappear.

It was beyond informative on the intricacy of our goverments financial prowess and technical abilities to track each and everyone of us through the almighty dollar. It was pure scary.
It really brought home to me how much power our government has and how we the people have lost control of the goverment.

The book was filled with stories of hide out drop outs and stupid things criminals do. Very entertaining even if you get no help on your goal to disapear.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is a must read! A book about the REALTY of Privacy!
Review: We need more information about the TRUTH concerning our personal privacy. Mr. Pankau keep us updated!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: You have no idea how much you don't know!
Review: Wow! It takes guts to live on the edge and share knowledge with anyone willing to listen. I met Mr. Pankau at a John Galt Advanced Seminar in Hawaii. This book is just the begining to a life of true freedom if you are willing to learn from Mr. Pankau and others. Read the book...meet the author if you get the chance. He will give you more!
