Summary: Great info found nowhere else!
Review: I found this book to be very interesting. I have looked into this topic before and was unable to get the answers I needed. This book not only provided those answers but also gave me new questions to ask. A must read for anyone concerned with privacy or moving out of the US.

Summary: What a read!!
Review: I must say that I am extremely impressed with this book, and although it is not a step by step how-to manual, it definitly gets you thinking. Some day, you too, can enjoy yourself sitting on a beach sipping a tropical adult beverage far and free from the plunderous arm of step-uncle Sam. I have written Mr. Pankau several times and have found him to be quite intelligent and a wealth of information. Can't wait to get his other books!

Summary: Worst Book Ever
Review: I personally found the book uninformative. But should I really be suprised? I don't a book sold at Amazon.com or any other website/bookstore is really going to tell anyone how disappear. In addition to that, I did not enjoy the authors writing style at all. The again I'm used to books by Salinger, Fitzgerald and Heller, not Panaku. In closing, poorly written, uninformative, and unhelpful. If I had any assests to hide, and followed this book, I would not get very far.

Summary: Good Read For All Who Want To Remain Free
Review: I picked up this book casually from a local bookstore and paid cash - if it was any other book I would have paid by my credit card - you see I didn't even wanted anyone to find out that I have bought and read this book. Then decided to write this review for reasons you would see in the last paragraph.

Overall - a good and must read for anyone, primarily men, who want to remain free and control their destiny, and who feel that the "system" has systematically encroached upon and destroyed their rights, and who feel that the money left over after paying all the taxes is theirs to keep and spend the way they like and not the way some "system" tells them to.

Edmund delivers a powerful punch line ever and ever again - "THREE CAN KEEP A SECRET IF TWO OF THEM ARE DEAD." This in itself should give a serious person a good idea about what to do. The table in Appendix A is good and so is table 9.01 in chapter 9. I believe that the rest of the book is half common sense and half roughage to digest the main theme of planning well and not revealing one's mind.

I was however seriously disappointed by two things - first - overemphasis on people who everyone would accept have ill gotten money and should not be allowed to hide and disappear with that money, and second - the lack of a chapter on fighting back and attacking the "system", either individually or collectively, to keep our hard earned money away from the decisions of myopic politicians, ivory tower judges or run away juries. Ideally we simply should not have to hide and disappear. Either Edmund, being an ex-government investigator, did not wanted to suggest that, or he just wanted to wait to build up enough ferment before he or someone else could write a sequel. But - then again - it is nice to know of a process, in case someone does need to have control over his own assets.

Summary: I read it all, enjoyable, informative, but not plug-n-play
Review: I read it all, and find it informative. Its certainly not a manual on how to hide from your ex-wife, that one previous reviewer was ranting and raving about. Some fun ideas are presented, but almost everything hinges on a second ID which is not that easy, or affordable to acquire. Maybe for the wealthy but not the average Joe or Jane. It does make clear how difficult it is to go without trace, and what your followers will be looking for. Ruski complained that it told you how to hide, then told how to find you, but it doesnt do that. There really isn't anything that tells the average person how to find someone else, not unless you are a P.I. and have access to the credit bureau and federal data bases. BUT it does make you aware of how tracked you are and maybe, just maybe will help you reduce that exposure. If you REALLY DO WANT TO DROP OUT, then get the boo, there are good tips. I recommend it, but only 3.5 stars. Maybe the list of web sites might raise it to ****.

Summary: To the reader from California
Review: I've read this book, and it's not about abandoning your genuine responsibilities or killing anybody. It's about hanging on to what you've acquired! If one has accumulated wealth at the expense of others' well-being, that is wrong. But if one decides to prevent others (including the government) from getting their hands on whatever assets one has amassed, that is neither immoral nor harmful (except, perhaps, to those who would joyously relieve you of your property and dignity). For myself, I thought the book kicked butt, and am recommending it to all my immoral scofflaw friends

Summary: Funny but worthless
Review: If this book wasn't meant as real-world guide, it would make for great parody of the "Disappear from the System!" crowd. At best, nearly all of the information is outdated, and the asset protection stuff will probably do more to get you in trouble than be of any substantial help.

Summary: Who says you can't have it all? You can if you know how!
Review: If you ever wanted to get away from the grind, away from your problems or away from the rat race that many of us call a life, then this is the book for you! Every one of us some day reaches the point where we are ready to chuck it all out the window and walk out, for a few moments or for the rest of our life.

When you reach this point, don't just wander around aimlessly, get a grip and make a plan. Life is too short to waste on problems, especially when there are places to go and things to do that will make you feel like a new man, or woman, as the case may be.

Whatever the reason, if you want to get out of Dodge and take your wordly possessions with you, then you need to plan for it now. With a little knowledge and a few contacts, you can live a life of leisure. As a wise philosopher once said, the best revenge is living well!

P.S. Dont tell anyone about your plans. Remember, three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead!

Summary: Excellent!
Review: If you ever wondered leaving your home country and living in a new country, this book is for you. The author shows the most common pitfalls in trying to "disapear". If you are facing a big law suit from your ex-wife or whatever reason you may want to hide your assets and disapear, this book is for you.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Save your money.
Review: If you really plan to do disappear you should already know what is in this book. "Do not keep your frequent flier miles and your credit card" That's just common sense! I do not care for the author's condescending style either.
