Summary: Full Frontal Exposes the Art of PR
Review: I'm an investment banker who raises capital for companies and now I make every new client read this book before they do anything else. It teaches growing companies, very exactly, how to get the media excited about their Company and accordingly, to separate themselves from all the other companies clamoring for attention - the ones who are just regurgitating press release after press release and wondering why no one is writing about them...

Also, personally I don't think this book eliminates a companies need to get a PR firm. Because not everyone, quite frankly, has the time to implement Full Frontal's teachings. Rather, by explaining the PR process it allows Companies to better manage their relationship with their own PR firm, and to evaluate their performance more effectively.

Summary: Full Frontal is fully fabulous
Review: I've not only read Full Frontal Pr - twice, I use it as a reference and a reality check. In fact, as an Adjunct Professor at The Fordham Graduate School of Business, I ask my students in "Corporate Image Communication" to buy, read and treasure the book.
It's smart, funny and comprehensive. And a wondrously good read.
Laermer is a realist, a great practitioner and someone I would consult because of the book.

Summary: PR advice you can easily apply to your product
Review: If you are a novice at promotion and PR, this book gives a great overview and practical tips on how to promote your product or service. If you are a seasoned professional, it's a fantastic refresher course on getting the word out. A quick, fun read with language that is easy to understand, and entertaining, Laermer boils it down to the basics and teaches you how to use them.

Summary: Nobody PR's it better
Review: If you, like me, believe strong PR is like warfare, you'll love Richard Laermer's book. Because this guy knows how to fight the battle and he lays out all the tools in accessible detail in this book. You'll have it full of underlines and highlighting and dog ears in no time.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best PR book out there. Period.
Review: It's also one of the best business books I've read. Finally, here's a guy who makes PR accessible without oversimplifying it. He provides concrete examples, and it's an entertaining read, one worth digesting and holding on to (it even makes a good gift if you know anyone in PR). Many great products and ideas never see the light of day without a good spokesman and press campaign; this book can help solve that.

Summary: Extremely Useful...today and in the future
Review: It's rare to find a business book that goes beyond the theoretical and gives business owners tools they can use immediately. This book does a great job illustrating the power of great PR and the enormous impact it can have rather quickly on a business.

This book sits on my desk and I find myself referring to it on a regular basis. I can't wait until they come out with the sequel!

Summary: Laermer Shoots HImself in the Foot
Review: Laermer's written a lot of pap over the years, but the release of this book tells us that he's hit rock bottom. He's actually telling people how they can "do PR" so that they don't have to hire a PR firm (which he owns).

What's worse, the procedures he outlines aren't even correct. Anyone who reads this book and tries this do-it-yourself PR will be laughed at throughout the newsroom.

Also, Joe Edelson - one of the people who reviewed the book - works for Laermer. Check the agency's website.

Summary: Right on the money
Review: Mr. Laermer and Mr. Prichinello's approach to explaining the ins and outs of the media is a terrific resource for learning about the "PR World" that exists out there that the average person is totally oblivious to. In a really accessible writing style you can become extremely savy yourself whether you use the information as general knowledge or if you employ some of their techniques in marketing yourself or your own business. I not only use this book in a University class that I teach on Media, but have also used their suggestions which have helped me to expand my law practice. It's a must buy book...JCH

Summary: A great book...good t ips...but planning is key!
Review: No doubt that business success rests with public image and "getting people talking about you, your business, or your product." But not everyone is comfortable with the "full frontal approach." So before you take a giant leap towards the front cover of "Time" or the "Wall Street Journal" (or even your community weekly newspaper), step back and do an honest self-assessment of who you are, what you have to say - and why anyone would want to listen to your story! A successful public relations plan begins with a step-by-step process that will help even the most timid become comfortable with the concept of self-promotion. Then, and only then, give it your best with "Full Frontal PR."

Summary: Here's everything you need to know
Review: Okay, here's the secret -- buy this book and you'll be able to do your OWN public relations. With the on-target advice from Richard Laermer, you'll soon be pitching ideas to the media (starring you, of course) and appearing in print with regularity. Get started today working on your fifteen minutes of fame and see how much longer it will last!
