Rating: Summary: WOW! This Was A Very Good Book Review: Gives great insight to how PR and press people think. One of the best books I've read on the topic.
Rating: Summary: Finally...Useful PR Information! Review: Go ahead, define Public Relations. I dare you. Laermer and Prichinello define it, and then some. These guys own and run a PR agency, and I was fully expecting to find a lot of purely theoretical information. Instead, I found real, useful insight. The book contains specific examples, which, by their timely nature, will seem less relevant as they age (and I hope this is the first edition of many). But good examples are just that, and Laermer and Prichinello use them to clearly explain principles that are perhaps less-than-obvious to those of us who remember black and white television. The tone of this book is informal, but make no mistake: The information here will make a measurable difference in your business, whether you're a dot-commer who is still surviving or a Fortune 100 executive. This is also the first marketing book I've read (and I've read thousands) that will be both clear and relevant to those not in the Marketing Department. I have a copy to my CFO, and he loved it--and learned from it.
Rating: Summary: Kick A** Book !Clean out your bookshelf : this is all U need Review: How much did we like this book? So much that we actually BOOKED author Richard Laermer to speak at one of our BIGfrontier events in Chicago: http://www.bigfrontier.org/events/index.asp?event=53 - and that's not an honor bestowed lightly! If you are at all interested in obtaining positive PR for your business, or would like to more fully understand the services that your PR firm is providing, you must read Full Frontal PR. This tome tells it like it is - in language you'll understand - no marketing-speak. Get a handle on one of the most important investments any business can make: its public persona, from a master of the game.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I am in the publicity biz and highly recommend this book. Richard Laermer is a PR pro who knows what the hell he's talking about.

Rating: Summary: The One Book I Use Review: I decided to learn PR to help me in my business, and bought some books based on their reviews on Amazon. This was the one that was a total blast to read. It was the only where I got through the whole thing and thought Ok, now I know. There are chapters on everything you need to make PR doable. And one section really breaks it down for you in a hilarious way - like you're doing it - so that you can try what Laermer got to do for his clients. The examples are hilarious - for anyone thinking they understand business there are ways to learn how to handle clients. Only one out of dozens of readers didn't like the book (and Laermer) -- I realized he was using it as a way to get even with the writer, which is funny. I guess the author (who owns a business) must be an intense guy to get someone mad. Ex-employee no doubt caught doing something bad and ousted! My vote is Full Frontal PR - check out chapter titles on FullFrontalPR.com and examples of how Laermer writes and you'll see: Finally anyone can "get" PR without reading a boring textbook. Who else would call a section on finding out about competitors, "Research And Snoop - Dawg!"
Rating: Summary: Finally a Handbook for PR Review: I just started a new business and missed the class in school for PR and Marketing. Not a problem after reading this book. The fluid and clever writing made the information easily digestible if not right out tasty. My product appeals to a specific age group that I thought I knew how to get to. Not the case. I spent $15,000 before reading Full Frontal and got nothing. Then I tried the various tactics in the book out and Bamm - sales are taking off. I received local and national press and now am thinking international. Also, I am having my employees read it since they are on the front lines of my company. Thank you Richard Laermer.
Rating: Summary: Now I Understand PR Review: I never really "got" what PR is or why businesses should care until I read Full Frontal PR. As an English professor, my students are often interested in PR as a career, and I now recommend this book to them as a clear, concise, insider's look at this industry. While some of the specific examples might be hard for those outside major metropolitan areas (New York and LA) to relate to, the principles are universal.
Rating: Summary: A great book for 18 bucks Review: I was impressed with how clearly the complex world of PR was described. Who knew a writer from Us weekly could be so talented and really know the nitty gritty about PR? This book goes over all of the basics and even goes into details like spin and sound bites, a great book for beginners and those looking to tune up their skills!
