Review: I've been using three or four books to compile information on water distribution methods over the years. This is the first book I have encountered that has a comprehensive knowledge and a clear presenation of useful situations in water distribution. Haestad's Water Distribution Methods book has replaced the other books on my shelf.

Review: We bought this book to help in the design and analysis of water distribution systems. I have since used this book as a reference for many things including a study guide in preparation for my PE test. There is a very interesting history of hydraulics that is very informative. The water distribution sytem modeling program is explained well and is simple to use.

Summary: Flexibility is the Key to A Good Design
Review: Recently, I purchased the Water Distribution Modeling Book. I find it an invaluable reference book for my engineering toolbox. I have used the software "WaterCad" that accompanied the book and find it very useful. It provides the designer with the flexibility to customize each project yet maintaining the integrity of the well known formulas. And that is another feature that I like----Haestad uses the "tried and true" formulas of Darcy-Weisbach, Robert Manning, and Hazen Williams. Many new software companies tend to manipulate the hydraulic formulas to fit into the program and the results are not always correct. Haestad, does not do that. They have experienced notable engineers on their staff to publish such an invaluable reference book.
