Review: Water Distribution Modeling has quickly become the water distribution modeling text for Banning Engineering. It is a complete resource that is easy to use and understand. We have used it to re-vamp our water distribution modeling procedures and have used it to develop one of our "Lunchtime Training" series classes on water distribution. We recommend it highly!

Chapter 6 - Calibrating Hydraulic Network Models, was particularly helpful. It provided useful infromation to help determine model accuracy, sources of errors, and various calibration techniques and approaches. The book is a must for all hydraulic modelers as a reference and we use it exclusively to help train and familiarize our new engineer's with hydraulic modeling. I would recommend this book to all engineers interested in water system modeling as well as those interested in modeling sewer force main systems.

Clearly written with plenty of examples, illustrations, photos, and diagrams (even cartoons!), you won't put this book down while you are working on your model. This book has been, and continues to be, extremely helpful as we develop and CALIBRATE our system. The information inside was very practical and applicable to me as an engineer.

It went into more detail and explained the aspects of modeling and water distribution in general much better than the user's manual. I highly recommend any serious modeler to make this purchase. I found it very helpful for explaining the process of developing a system head curve for modeling pumps in parallel. The book really simplified the process to something that I could understand.
