Summary: A different modeling book
Review: This book is different than others, because it includes from very
simple hydraulic concepts to very complex concepts to adjust your model to a "real" situation. Eventhough it is focused in Watercad, the authors performed an excellent job in making it independent from the model you use.

Summary: Water Distridution Modeling
Review: Adam Strafaci,
I started using this book as of last year. My background was in structural engineering, and therefore hydraulics was new to me. I studied chapter 2, "Modeling Theory" first and I found it to be helpful when I created my model. The information on skeletonizing was also useful. The only bad comment I have is the information on modeling wells. The City of Turlock's water system comprise of 36 wells and counting. I was hoping the text would have more detailed information on the well modeling.
Overall, I found the text to be very useful and informative.

Summary: Water Distribution Modeling
Review: The best single source on information I have found. It is a excellant reference and very worthwhile for design if you don't do a lot of modeling.

Summary: A Comprehensive Water Supply Manual
Review: A textbook for students, a reference tool for design professionals, and a manual for WaterCAD users. This is a "must have" book for anyone involved in water supply.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: One of the most useful books in the business
Review: If you happen to be in the consulting business, this book will help you over and over to get to the optimal solution. I have used it plenty of times, and evry time it gives me a better understanding of the behavior of hydraulic networks.
I highly recommend you to try it and convince yourself of the value of it.

Summary: You can't go on without it !
Review: Water Distribution Modeling by Haestad Methods is "THE BOOK" for anyone doing any work of any kind in hydrology or water distribution. It is clearly written, easy to use and that's rare in any engineering manuals. If you're an engineer, technician or cad operator, you will find this book one of the most if not "the most" valuable resource that you have available to you. If you have it, you know. If you don't, get it!

Summary: Water Distribution Modeling
Review: Haestad Method's "Water Distribution Modeling" is a well developed resource with everything you need to know in one book! It is an excellent resource for those responsible for analyzing water supply needs. I highly recommend it for all site design engineers.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A good starting point for Numerical Modelling
Review: I found this book to be a good starting point for numerical modelling simulation tasks. However the software provided limits users to a 25 pipe networks. Nevertheless the concepts are well explained through manual and long hand methods initially. Subsequently the users can achieve solutions to same problems through the Watercad software.

Summary: Water distribution modeling
Review: Is a great book. This book includes the most important aspects about water distribution modeling. The authors explain all that you need know for water networks, modeling, calibration, hydraulic theory -hydraulic topics, history, tanks, pumps and valves-. If you need a partner that help you then this book is your best choice.

Summary: A Young Engineer's Review of Water Distribution Modeling
Review: As a young Engineer with 5 years experience I'm always looking for ways to increase my knowledge base on a wide range of subjects. One way to do this is to build a library of useful textbooks that one can reference. Water Distribution Modeling is one such textbook. The great qualities of this book are the following: Quick reference index in the back of the book, the clear way each variable is defined after a formula, clear descriptive figures to help get the point across, and the easy to read approach that the authors used to convey technical information. Some minor improvements that can be made are the following: Chapter summaries for extra quick reference, formula/equation summary for quick calculations reference, and a bit of color to make the information more attractive to the reader.
