Summary: Scale Model
Review: The book appears to present the information in a logical format that doesn't get too bogged down with derivations and other technical presentations that tend to complicate things. I've been out of school for 20+ years so I don't want to see differential equations or other formulas as presented in standard textbooks. The book helps with modeling by categorizing the topics for easy reference. It also helps when taking Haestad's monthly Civil Quizes.

Summary: A Must Have!
Review: Haestad's "Water Distribution Modeling" is a reference that all water distribution modelers must have. This book is packed with answers to the questions you have. It covers everything from initial design and concept to system calibration.

Summary: How to Distrubute Water in 9 easy Lessons
Review: What makes a good textbook or technical reference book? Is it a book that provides the right balance between theory and practice? No! It is the book that connects the two. It explains the theory by illustrating it through the practice and its development. It also will connect the parts and show how they complete the larger picture.
It's the same in design. The tools we use, the formulas, the programs, design concepts have to fit into the larger whole to meet the clients need. "Water Distribution Modeling" accomplishes this. It has all the standard items in other textbooks, formulas, constants, etc. It has practical examples for tables and limits. But the book excels at blending these items together into a usable format that will allow you to learn new aspects for design or to use it for review and the quick reference.

Summary: Great Book
Review: This book is a fantastic reference for anyone who does distribution modeling. Until now, I've used a compilation of texts that each contained a chapter or two on distribution modeling. It's great to now have a single book with extensive information on modeling. I ordered this book the first week it came out, and have not been disappointed.
