Rating: Summary: Don't wait and request a copy. Review: The way that this book is presented make it a must have for all the people related with water distribution: professionals, professors and students. All the material is clear and simple. And with the addition of the WaterCAD software, it's a material that all must have in their library. I use it to prepare my classes at the Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua. When you look at the authors, you can expect a very well prepared and documented book, as it is. Buy it as soon as you can.
Rating: Summary: Hydraulic Water Modeling Review: Haestad Methods' Water Distribution Modeling text is very informative and useful. The material presented is in depth yet easy to understand. Not only does the book explain the basics of modeling, but it also provides in depth knowledge on advanced modeling topics. The chapter on Testing Water Distribution Systems was particularily useful in tying the model to actual system performance.
Rating: Summary: Merges Hydraulic Theory with Water Distribution Practice Review: Water Distribution Modeling successfully integrates the hydraulic theory that is necessary to accurately use a computer model with current water distribution system practice. This book can serve as both a textbook and a reference book. It contains a wealth of useful data in table format that is very helpful. For example, the calculation of net positive suction head available is simply explained, and convenient tables of standard barometric pressures and vapor pressures for water are included for use in the equations.
Rating: Summary: Perfect and Excellent Review: This book is perfect and excellent for all practitioners and designers. It covers everything from pipe network modelling to design application and even included an overview on the basics of water distribution modelling. It's really a perfect tool for civil engineers involved in hydraulics and has been very effective in all design aspects we've been dealing with especially in real estate/land development. There's not a single book in my country (Philippines) that could match the completeness of this book or even get closer to this. I'm proud to have one. Thanks to Haestad.
Rating: Summary: Water Distribution Modeling Review: An outstanding reference book with all necessary formulas, clear concise explanations, and filled with diagrams and charts. It's also a great training manual for new engineers/interns or those with utility department positions and a "must-have" for experienced water system modelers.
Rating: Summary: Very good resource Review: Water Distribution Modeling is a very good resource for engineers working in water systems. This book and software is a good place to find alot of things you will need.
Rating: Summary: Water Distribution Modeling Review: I found the "Water Distribution Modeling" book very well written as well as a big help in understanding modeling principles. It serves as a great reference for my job. This book in conjuction with the software is everything you need for a superior model.
Rating: Summary: Water Distribution Modeling Review: Great reference for water modeling. It helped me with everything I neeeded. If you need help with the theory or practice of a water model, get this book.
Rating: Summary: Haestad Methods Does It Again Review: With the release of "Water Distribution Modeling" Haestad Methods continues to be the industry leader in water distribution modeling. This text continues to be an invaluable resource tool for me in my day to day activities associated with municipal infrastructure design. Anyone involved with water systems design or maintenance should have a copy of this "Bible" on their desk at all times.
Rating: Summary: Usefulness Of Water Distribution Modeling Book Review: This is a very useful book in that it provides a good hydraulics and hydrology reference as one works on the design of distribution systems. It has a comprehensive section dealing with water demand forecasting hence one can analyse a system with good demand input data. The approach on creating and modeling a network is explained in a simplified and straight way that it is easy to create and design any network thereafter. The use of cartoons to emphasise certain issues raised in the book make an everlasting impression in one's mind and this serves as a good method to remember content. The book content is also well supported by very well presented and meaningful charts and images such as the diurnal curves. The exercises at the end of each chapter do provide a good test of how one grasps the concepts of medelling. The book serves as a reference to the solutions to these questions. I do not litter my desk with several reference books any more when I am designing water distribution networks because the Haestads Water Distribution Modeling book contains all I need to know when modeling.
