Summary: Excellent Book - Excellent Software
Review: This book is great, and with a software - it is the best! No more imagining and dreaming about Water Distribution computer modeling after reading a book, just go to the software and see what it is all about. Excellent integration of educational and reference media. Bravo Haestad!

Summary: a book plenty of answers
Review: When I began to modelling water networks I found a very little information and I had to learn myself. Now, I know a almost all the items of the book, but I very happy to see it in a real book. Of course, I learn some things. Thank you, Haestad

Summary: Excellent summary of subject
Review: I bought this book so I could use it for Professional Development Hours for my professional registration as an engineer. Working your way through the whole book with exams is an excellent way to get up to 90 contact hours or 9 Continuing Education Units.

While the book is based on the software sold by the publisher, it is an excellent summary and review of the subject and will provide very good basic information for practical design of water distribution systems. It is written in a very easy to follow manner and provides many examples to work through to be sure you have the methods down and are comfortable with the software. An academic version of the software is included and a PDF format version of the exam booklet can be printed to send in for grading and CEU credit.

All in all, an excellent effort and the software is good too.

Summary: Water Distribution Modeling
Review: I was very impressed with the information included within this book. It can be used as a text resource in college classes and well as a reference for practicing engineers. The program included has aided me in the design of several private projects with very little "learning curve time" expended. All the necessary tools are available to provide a start to finish design and report. "A must" for all practicing civil engineers.

Summary: Water Distribution Modelling Handbook "a must" for Engineers
Review: I have been a user and a fan of Haestad's modelling software since purchasing Cybernet in the early days.
Ease of use and flexibility to provide both quick and accurate solutions to hydraulic problems have characterised the success of the ongoing development of WaterCAD for windows.
With the additional tools and reference material contained in this companion text we have in the office an excellent reference source for training young engineers, and for updating our own skills and knowledge base. An excellent and comprehensive publication.

Summary: Water System Modeling for Dummies
Review: The Haestaed Methods Book is an excellent source. There's enough background and "plain language" that anyone one with an engineering background can follow it and it is in-depth enough that a water system modeling specialist can learn a few tricks.

Summary: WDM Modeling
Review: We have found this book to be a valuable resource in developing our water system models. Easy to understand and follow, it has helped our younger engineers successfully complete a wide scope of projects. Would recommend adding it to any civil engineering library.

Summary: Water Network Modeling Made Easier
Review: I have found the Water Distribution Modeling textbook to be a vital reference guide for both the investigation of unfamiliar areas of network modeling and refreshing up on those once familiar areas that have not been used in some time. The language and figures are uncomplicated and the odd cartoon makes for light relief rarely found in books of this nature.

Summary: Understanding Water Distribution

Summary: A must for water distribution professionals
Review: Excellent book for library reference collection. A very valuable tool for water distribution system modeling. The contents are presented in a simple but comprehensive manner. The illustrations are an added bonus, as well as the problems and explanations, which are presented in an excellent manner.

I recommend this book to those involved in the water distribution profession.
