Summary: Fantastic!! Wish the new edition comes out!
Review: A great book. Excellent tables and summaries. Must read for all neurology, neurosurgery and neuroradiology residents. Although, it is getting too old and I hope that Anne Osborne will come up with a new edition after more than 7 years.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: No new edition is forthcoming
Review: I agree that this book is awesome. Those of us waiting for an update are doomed to disappointment, however. Dr. Osborne has been teaching at AFIP regularly, and has stated many times that her literary efforts will henceforth be dedicated to electronic-based media (eg Palm-Pilot), and that she is not planning any new editions of this book.

Summary: Don't do your neurology boards without it!!!
Review: It has been said that this book is the Bible of neuroradiology. It is. This book is easy to read, with tons of illustrations and tables. It's a "neuropathology book in black and white." I'm satisfied with the neuroradiology part of my Board exams, after having read this book from cover to cover.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Needs to be updated....
Review: This is a very good neuroradiology text. It is useful for those studying radiology as well as neurology. Illustrations and tables are wonderful. The brief pathophysiology of diseases is very useful. However, it is a bit incomplete because it has not been revised. It does not have PET or MR SPECT.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The BEST there is !!!
Review: This is the best book on NeuroRadiology available. It incorporates pertinent anatomical, pathological and imaging aspects of the entire Nervous system. It is more than adequate for the radiology resident as a review for the boards, and can be also used for the subspecialty exams. It is Simply The Best. Thank you Dr. Osborne for making life easier.

Summary: Excellent basic text but...
Review: This remains an excellent textbook on neuroradiology. I think it should still be an essential read for a neuroradiology fellow. It is probably a little too much for a resident to "read through" during his/her neurorad rotations. The pictures are of high quality. But, the text book has one big drawback in that it is becoming more and more outdated. There is no significant mention of Diffusion/perfusion/PET imaging. I found this book to be a valuable read to gain knowlegde of the basics of neuroradiology. It bridges the gap between less detailed books such as the Mosby Handbook Series (also by A. Osborn) and a more complete reference text like Atlas' MRI of the Brain and Spine. This is still an excellent book to have.
