Summary: this book is useless
Review: This book is nothing but a series of theorems, proofs, and definitions, with no real explanations. The examples aren't very good, either. If you need more than a proof to grasp a concept, then this book is pretty much useless.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Not for the faint hearted, but worth the effort
Review: This is a fantastic book on linear algebra. Not only does it cover abstract vector spaces through the Jordan canonical form, but takes the reader through complex inner-product spaces and the Spectral Theorem as well. For the reader who has the mathematical sophistication, this is a great book. Excellent preparation for the student planning to attend graduate school.

Summary: This is it.
Review: This is the book that allowed me to really enjoy rigorous mathematics. The interplay between the abstract presentation and the matrix representations is the best I've seen. Absolutely top notch.

This is a must have for the book shelf. I gain new insight everytime this book is opened, regardless of page number I happen to flick to.
