Rating: Summary: Should Have Been Better Review: Very disappointing book. I have long been familiar with and a fan of the work of Roper Starch. But this was poorly written and just plain boring. Not sure if the authors were trying to be the next "Tipping Point" but this just doesn't work. Don't waste your money.
Rating: Summary: Live, Translatable Success Stories -- & A Decent Price Review: With the excessive number of marketing and business books available these days, I'd nearly stopped even browsing for new ones. But, after reading through this one by Keller and Berry last weekend, I don't feel like I wasted my free time or money! A very rare occurrence! It really brings to life some of the success stories brought about by using these people dubbed "Influentials" and provides enough structure that I feel I can put a plan into motion.
Rating: Summary: Food for Thought & Then Some Review: With the limited marketing dollars at our company these days, we've had to cut the heck out of our budgets -- in everything from mailings, to advertising, to public relations and, of course staff -- "making do with less" is an understatement lately. "The Influentials" has provided some very useful food for thought. The fresh perspective in the book, combined with the wealth of data, has provided me with some new methods to consider in making the most of my staff's time with the greatest results. And, in an effort to save a little more, my copy is now making the rounds in the department!!
