Summary: A must have for taking control of your finances. Great info.
Review: The Courage to be Rich offers tools to live by while taking control of finances and seeing a way out of debt. Step by step and day by day exercises supprt you in choosing to face the bills which have accumilated. Tallying up the total really does take courage. But ahhhhh...what a relief to be able to check off each past due, over due, and just due notice and move closer to saving again for that house, and addig to the retirement savings. If you are preparing for your future, there is good solid information to refer to time and time again.

Summary: Please Fade Away
Review: I read 9-step with great interest. But this one is out the window. Many authors do not know how to fade gracefully, such as Dummy's book on mutual funds,..., Don't Sweat the small stuff in ..., Random Walk on ..., Would it be great that Vivien Leigh just quit after "Gone With the Wind?"

Summary: Same Old Stuff
Review: I must agree with the many reviewers who cited Robert Koppel's much more thoughtful book Money Talks on the psychological role of money in our lives.Koppel deals with the issue of money in all its complexity and explains clearly whereas Ms. Orman provides simplistic answers that offer no more than familiar bromides.

Summary: Courage, Yeah! But also Hope, Faith and New Beginnings!
Review: I believe for anyone who is not aware of how the system works when it comes to finances, this is a great eye-opener. I have heard of ROTH-IRA's, but not sure how it worked. I have heard of Wills and Living Wills, but not sure of the differences. I have had great ideas on how to manage my finances better, but was able to confirm my ideas and get new ones from Suze's book. Anyone who knows they need to make a change and is willing to go step-by-step with the help of "The Courage to be Rich" can do it. I have been delightfully inspired and for the first time in my life, been able to really understand how finances and financial changes can really be to my best interest. Make a change by giving yourself a chance and you will be glad you did. I believe anyone who has given this book a negative recommendation may already be rich so it really doesn't matter to them what is written, but for those of us who aren't clear, it's a great start to the financial world. Remember, we didn't make the rules, we are just trying to understand them...

Summary: Full of helpfull information
Review: I was never too interested in her "9 steps" book, skimmed it but never read it. When this book came out I jumped on it. Plain english - insightful - to the point. I recommend it for anyone who is spinning their wheels about their finances!

Review: This book is a wonderful motivator to get you to realize the importance of getting your finances & your life in order. It was easy to read, and concise. This book is for the average person, who needs a little help getting their priorties straight. I really enjoyed it. I've already implemented much of the advice.

Review: Suze made me realise how I was blaming others, and made me think of my finaces better, but I was hoping for more

Summary: As they say in France--Gaarbaaage
Review: What are we to think about a country in which tripe like this is popular? Once again, we are seduced by those who substitute "feel-goodisms" for hard work and knowledge. It's hard to figure out who is dumber--Orman or people who pay money for this.

Summary: The DUD of the Year
Review: After reading this book I almost wanted to cry. The reason for my sad state is that I realized how much I payed for this book. Thank God I returned it and got my money back.

The book is filled with misinformation and there are a number of factual errors as well. This is a result of a rushed job instead of a well thought out project.

Summary: Great advice for young couples!!
Review: To my surprise, most reviewers were expecting to read a "how to" investor's guide. That is not what this book is meant to be. My oppinion, it was meant to explain how to treat and respect money. Suze explains some of day-to-day rules that can prevent most of us from getting into money trouble. I enjoyed the way Suze Orman writes about our attitude toward money and how our attitude could have been affected by our parents or events in our childhood. I found myself recognizing my own friends and family past money attitudes through Suze's client stories.
